Felt like a bigger week than it was as I didn't make it to the shop last week and had 2 weeks of stuff to pick up today, but stuff from this week (I think):
Fire & Ice 3 (I was shocked to see this, it was so late I thought the series got cancelled along with all the other Frazetta series form Opus but I forgot this was Dynamite) Amazing Spider-Man 260 Facsimile Batman The Long Halloween: The Last Halloween 0 Catwoman 68 Crisis on Infinite Earths 6 Facsimile EC Epitaphs from the Abyss 3 Gatchaman Galactor 2 Jay Garrick Flash tpb Multiverse Collision Detection 1 Nightwing Vol. 5 tpb Superman 18 Witchblade 3 Wonder Woman 13 X-Men 4
there were a couple other trades that came in for me, but I held off until mext week for them but they were GL by Johns Vol. 2, Batman by Morrison Vol. 1 and Detective Nocturne Vol. 3. I'll get those on m next trip in to the lcs.

Mark Waid's World's Finest continues to be a really solid book but this story might be a bit of a miss for me because I've just always felt that Eclipso was a lame villain and even Waid didn't change my mind here. I'll still pick up the rest but I think it might be a bit of a slog.

Batman: The Last Halloween was a solid start ( The zero issue is a reprint of 2021's Long Halloween Special but three years is longer then I thought as it seemed new to me despite having read it before) but it'll be weird seeing it continue with out Sale's art. There are some really amazing artists lined up to finish the story but so much of what I loved about Long Halloween and Dark Victory was the art. Still, Loeb can craft a fun adventure so I'm looking forward to it none the less.

I think Darth Vader #50 was a much better wrap up of the OT stories Marvel has been doing than Star Wars #50. Rather than feeling like a weird "special" like Star Wars it managed to tie up the various plot points in a way that felt like an organic part of the over all story and not just of the comics but also dovetailing into the films as well. It's interesting, Darth Vader has consistently been one of the best books not only in sales but in quality as well but with the run time its had now they've pretty much explored Vader's whole career at this point so I'm not sure you could do another ongoing. Sure, you could do mini-series about small events that weren't covered before but it would hard to do another monthly on going which has to have the bean counters at Marvel a little worried.
What do you replace that consistent revenue stream with ? A Boba Fett on going maybe?

A fun little week this week!
Picked up:
1. Superman #18 2. Wonder Woman #13 3. Spider-Boy Annual #1 4. X-Men #4 (J. Scott Campbell variant) 5. X-Factor #2 6. Ultimate X-Men #7 7. Witchblade #3
The highlight of the week for me was either X-Factor or Superman. I'm in such a weird spot with Wonder Woman though. It's a real love/hate relationship with that title depending on the month.

It's a real love/hate relationship with that title depending on the month. Superman was surprisingly good once again, I'm really hating the event but this tie-in team up with Zatana worked really well. I tried Wonder Woman but despite an interesting enough concept it just devolved into too much typical King nonsense for me to keep up with. He's one of those writers that's clearly very talented but he really needs and old school editor who will say no to him and reign in his worst habits...and sadly those don't seem to exist anymore. The Trinity back ups are pretty great and DC seems to know there's an audience for that as I've been loving that they have been collecting them into specials so I don't need to buy the main book just for the awesome Wonder Tot back up.

I really enjoyed the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles anthology series, Mutant Nation, the first feature had Raph and his pet dinosaur Peperoni as hard traveling heroes which was a great concept and the other focused on Casey Jones in Japan as an enforcer for the Foot Clan. I think the only down side is that I wish there were more features instead of just two, but for what it was it was still a solid read.
