I'm deeply saddened to have discovered that longtime member SJNeal apparently passed away in late 2022. I'd been missing his presence here for a long while now and finally decided to do a deep search. This post appears to be about him. I'd greatly appreciate if anyone has additional information.

Well that's a bummer. R.I.P.

That's a shame. I can't say I ever really interacted with him that much (if at all), but he was definitely a name I was used to seeing around the community.

I'd wondered where he went. How sad. Rest in peace, friend.

Just gotta say that SJNeal was one of my favorite folks to interact with on here. He was friendly, passionate, knowledgeable, and a great friend to my review threads, frequently offering those supportive likes and chiming in with enthusiasm and insight. A lot of times when I write, I do it with the hope and expectation that I'll hear from certain people. Writing hasn't been the same without his reactions. I truly miss him.

Very sad news. I guess that given our common interest in old comics, many of us are at an age where we can go suddenly... but it doesn't soften the blow. Sincere condolences to his friends and family, and may his memory be a blessing.

Sincere condolences to his friends and family, and may his memory be a blessing. Yes, it's a sobering thought but very true. I remember SJNeal but don't think we ever talked much. Browsing through some of his posts, he was pretty regular on the 40 or 50 Years Ago this Month threads, but I think we probably weren't into the same kind of comics, for the most part. The post that jumped out at me as I skimmed through was his expression of sadness at the news of Brutalis's passing when that happened, as sadly ironic as that may be.
