I love Waid, so I'll give him at least one more issue but that was a pretty dire opening. The whole fake news and depowering thing just felt too over the top and an anti-establishment hero joining Waller's team just felt cliche.

Yeah, as I said for last week's primer this event was always going to be a tough sell simply because Waller's whole motivation is just so unbelievable and this issue was just so over the top that it compounded it. |

Space Ghost #3 each issue is self contained. This series feels more like the 60s cartoon than the DC series (which I liked). I really like this series and I feel the art team has settled in and is making this a series that I hope goes at least 12 issues.

Shazam #13. Mostly a Freddy and Mary issue which is great. I really want Freddy to get his powers back. Nice to see Mike Norton on art and Campbell is a perfect follow up to Waid as writer.

I got Birds of Prey #11 and Justice Society #10.
The current line-up on Birds of Prey contains a lot of my favorites. But I’m not real keen on what they’re doing with them. You get into a storyline that doesn’t really thrill you and, because of decompression, you’re stuck with it for 4 to 6 issues. Number 11 was entertaining for what it is though. Nice art.
And speaking of decompression … JSA #10 is a lot of big panels so the story doesn’t really get moved along very much. I like it. The art is great. The premise is the kind of thing that can rise and fall based on the execution. I have mixed feelings. It’s the kind of thing you have to accept if you read comics in the age of decompression.

I picked up the new Moon Knight as well, still by MacCay, and it was a nice primer for the Midnight Mission for new or lapsed readers introducing the cast of characters and providing some background information on Khonshu. I didn't read Blood Hunt so I have no idea how Marc came back but I'm interested to see where MacCay goes from here.

I haven't gone to the store to get #11 yet but I agree with you guys on Birds of Prey.. great cast but it seems like the main goal is to place dress up with them.
