Few things are more unsettling than when a member of a community you belong to suddenly vanishes and no one says anything about it. I've experienced this enough time to know how disturbing it can seem. Sure enough, with any community (and especially any online community) there are always fires being put out in the back room that the staff works hard to address and also works hard to keep out of the public spotlight. 99 out of 100 times, the end result is a return to the status quo. Feelings are calmed, issues are resolved, and we go on with no one realizing there's even been a problem.
This has been that other 1 out of 100 circumstances.
I'm not going to air dirty laundry; I'll just say this: There were issues, there was frustration felt by both JLA SilverAgeFan and by the staff, and, ultimately, JLA SilverAgeFan chose to leave and delete his account. He was not banned. He was not asked to leave. And while it's been an incredibly frustrating ordeal, he's still welcome to return anytime.
I'm locking this thread as this post is intended to inform and answer a common concern among members. This is not a topic open for discussion here or anywhere else on the board. Discussion leads to speculation, leads to judgments, leads to a ripple effect of problems.
Thanks. shax
