Two days after I made my debut in the Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana maternity ward, Stan Lee celebrated by unleashing this on the world-- Technically, I'm two days older than lousy punk, Flint Marko.
The Amazing Spider-Man #4, cover date: Sept. 1963, on-sale date, 11 June 1963-- Non-Pareil Publishing Corp (Marvel Comics Group)
Cover art by (who else?) Steve Ditko

I am amazed at the great covers from 1955, I had to narrow it down and decided to go with EC, this was near the end as Gaines gave up on comics in 1956 and concentrated on Mad. But to choose from just the EC Comics of 1955 was a task in itself, with great cover after great comic.. I decided on this historic book, both for it's significance and the dynamic Davis art. Impact #1, 1955

Cover art by (who else?) Steve Ditko I have a fun story on this one, which I happen to own. I got a copy graded about 5.5 for $250 when I bought it. The seller told me someone scribbled '13 b' on it and thought it was a defect, so did I initially, who the hell writes '13 b' on a comic? Then I had an epiphany! Could it really be '13 6' as in June 13, a street date? Glad I saw your June 11 date above. They used to scribble distribution dates through the 60s.

Impact #1, 1955 That's a hugely influential issue as well especially the Bergie Krigstein artwork way ahead of his time.

The last Quality Comics issues were cover-dated December 1956, the month I was born. This is one of them - Blackhawk #107, cover by Dick Dillin and Chuck Cuidera. I don't think I've ever seen this helicopter design before or since.

Hate giving away my age, don't work it out people, I am timeless. I'd like to participate in this week's contest myself but I can't find any covers from 2002 that I like.

Amazing Adult Fantasy (not that kind of adult fantasy) #10: I was very tempted to go with FF #3, but after looking at Mike's Newsstand I think this is the best cover of the month.
