Current DC titles have too many versions of the same character. Last night I woke up at 400 am from a dream and I had written a new Young Justice series that placed the characters (Kon-El. Tim. Cassie. Bart. Etc) 200 years from now. They volunteer to go to try and prevent a time crisis from happening that ends earth. Based on a plan by the JLA, the JSA, Titans and the Legion it is determined that this team has the best odds. The caveat is they can't return to the present. I like the Legion but always wanted a series set 100-200 years in the future to showcase some of the next generation of heroes.

I'd read a book like that for sure. I've always liked the concept of the Legion but at times it feels too far in the future to have a real connection to the other stories going on.

When the Legion started the stories didn't feel like it was 1000 years in the future. Most of the characters looked human. With time heroes like Blok and others appeared and it felt much more futuristic.

I'd read that.. I'm a sucker for a good alternate future story.
I think both Marvel and DC have that problem.. they can't get people to invest in new characters, so they just keep tweaking the old ones so we get Spider-Verse and infinite Kangs and all this stuff while interesting new characters tend to never get any traction.
DC has tried, but they do stick to new versions of old characters instead of actual new ones. Other than Gotham Academy (which, while still Batman-adjacent. at least isn't more of the same).. who was the last actual new character to stick in DC? They're trying now, but Monkey King didn't really find an audience..nothing in New 52 really was actually new... I can't think even really think of a non-Vertigo character that was created in the last 20 years....maybe Bunker... has he been around since New 52? Maybe in Titans Academy?
