Green Arrow #2. First of all I love the art style on this book. Second I love the involvement of the entire Arrow family. However I think the series is suffering a bit in that it is only a six issue mini series. There is enough going on story wise that DC should have allowed it to be 12 issues.

Justice Society #4. and on the opposite side this series feels like it spinning its wheels. We are 4 issues in and it has felt like the series hasn't progressed since the set up in issue #1. Beautiful art but... Man I wish there was more substance to the story.

I really enjoyed Action Comics and Nightwing this week. All 3 stories in Action were entertaining especially the one with Jon and I loved Nightwing having super powers for 2 hrs. I didn't even mind the Titans this issue as much as I did in previous issues.

I didn't even mind the Titans this issue as much as I did in previous issues. Nightwing was a lot of fun, it had just about everything going against it for me: I'm not a huge Titans fan, I think Neron is a tremendous bore and surprise powers usually make my eyes roll...but somehow none of that mattered and it was a pretty enjoyable romp. There was nothing world shaking here, but sometimes fun just for the sake of fun is just what you need.

Really loving all the stories in Action too, most times anthology titles have a weak link but since switching out Power Girl for Steelworks this has been firing on all cylinders.

Action Comics 1055 JSA 4 (I'm officially done with Geoff Johns) Nightwing 104 Blue Book 4 JSA is definitely very slow going(this easily could have been issue two for instance) but I'm still definitely engaged. I love the use of the various characters and the little mysteries they have are definitely interesting.

TMNT/Usagi Yojimbo: Wherewhen #3Written and illustrated by Stan Sakai Summary: 🎶When the Mogura ninja attack, those Turtle boys don't cut 'em no slack 🎶 (you know you just sang that in your head) Plot: Without spoiling too much, this one is going to hit hard shaxper . Real hard. Stan excels at creating intense character moments and although she only appeared here in this issue for a short time she's long been a fan favorite so I'm sure her absence will be felt though I suppose one can take solace in that this is merely a potential future and not the state of the actual ongoing so in that way that character isn't really gone. But still, that said it still took me a second there before I could read on and I totally felt for Gen. Which is really saying something about Stan's skills as a writer, I think Usagi has long since proven that it's no silly animal comic and that it can tell serious stories but every once in a while Stan finds a way to really hammer that point home. In this case it was with a lasting death but he's been just as capable in the past of doing it with devoting whole issues to exploring cultural elements that you just wouldn't see in some silly kid's book which really makes you feel you're reading a worth while story and not just a frivolous inter-company crossover. There's action here, humor and intense pathos...all in all just a really well rounded book that you seriously need to track down. Art: I think I've said it before but it bears repeating: I love how Stan draws the Turtles! There's just a sense of fun and energy to them that they really jump off of every page they're on. And I can't put my finger on it, but despite Stan not altering his usual style there's something that just visually sets them apart as being separate from Usagi's world and distinctly part of the Turtle Universe. Maybe it's the lack of clothes? I don't rightly know but it creates a really fun visual clash that I really feel increases my love of the book. Grade:10/10

I really enjoyed Nightwing alot... loved the temporary superpowers thing and Neron's defeat. I do like Neron as more of a sneaky manipulating type (I've always thought he and Mephisto were that aspect of the Satan persona in their respective universes), instead of the naricisstic brute I just read in 'reign in hell'. Fun that Blaze will be back in charge for a bit.
Titans seems like it might be going there too, with the Wally thing. Also, Tempest? That's quite a tease..hope it pays off.
I really think at some point in the not too distant future that if DC is going to really run with the Titans, Jon Kent and Damian need to join.
Action Comics I feel like I'm getting a bit bored with... what sort of threats can they possibly come up with for a whole TEAM of Super-people? I may drop this when the current stories all finish, we'll see.
I also grabbed The Vigil .. seems like it could be fun... feels like a cross between Checkmate and Doom Patrol.

I tried Vigil too but it just seemed like it was trying to be edgy simply for edginess' sake. yeah, there was a bit of that, but I'm willing to forgive that if it makes sense. I'll give it the first story line and see.
