(See the Advance Warning before participating) Nominations for The Captain Jim Zimmerman Award for best overall member who most exemplifies the spirit of the CCF1. Please post no more than one nomination for a member who you feel best exemplified the spirit of the CCF in our ninth year of the CCF (between April 30th, 202 at 9:22pm EST and April 30, 2023 at 9:21pm EST). 2. You must explain why you are nominating this member. This is the blurb that will end up in the CCF Hall of Fame if they win! 3. Please second no more than one nomination made by another member. You may not second your own nomination. 4. Any member that has previously won this award should not be nominated again unless they have done something especially different in the past year that is worthy of note. It is a given that past winning members continue to enrich the community. Let someone else have a turn 5. Any member receiving both a nomination and a second will be included in the final ballot for this award on May 24th. 6. Nominations and Seconds for this round conclude on May 21st. 7. Absolutely NO negative talk about another member, nor another member's nomination. The very purpose of this event is to salute our members and discussions for all they contribute to this community. Though only one member will ultimately receive this award, you have the potential to thank and maybe touch any member you choose to nominate or second. Please don't use this opportunity to hurt or deflate someone. So start your nominating!

I’m going to nominate @jaska.
I could point out obvious things, such as him being friendly, engaging, willing to consider all viewpoints, etc.
But I’d really like to point out how any post he does, whether it be about Superboy’s contributions to the DC mythos or covers that were ahead of their time, succeed because not only does he share his opinions in a fun way, but he manages to provide so much historical context, which is always informative. And his love for comic universes always comes through in each post, making his comments educational, informative and entertaining.

I nominate MWGallaher, whose review threads are unrivaled for their uniqueness. Western Team-ups; Jungle Gems or Junk; and the Golden Age Spectre come immediately to mind. Writing an excellent review thread is never easy, but the subjects mw has chosen are not exactly modern or mainstream, so the amount of research and digging he has to do is impressive. And his subjects are just the kinds of off-the-beaten-path topics that true comics aficionados love. In addition, mw is unfailingly courteous, classy and welcoming to those who respond, add to, or ask questions in those threads. He brings a rare combination of personalities to the forum: mw has an engineer's dedication to precision and rationality, but also an unabashed affection for this decidedly sloppy and illogical interest of ours. Plus, he worships Jim Aparo, and loves The Brave and the Bold, long recognized as signs of good taste and intelligence.

Aw shucks guys. Thanks. For my vote I'd put forward majestic they've been a long time brother in arms in reading and reviewing the newest books each week and I always enjoy seeing what they're into.
