The Lazarus Planet "tie-ins" continue to be strange. In the past there have been mentions here or there about the Lazarus rain but never in detail...but in the latest issue it's almost non-existent and instead we're treated to previews of books coming out later this spring. And while a book of previews isn't a bad idea by any stretch ( I really enjoyed the preview in this week's issue for the new Doom Patrol book) it's a weird way of doing it by pretending it's part of the Lazarus event. It's like DC wanted some kind of framing narrative to glue the previews together so they glommed onto a popular book to sell the previews but then forgot about telling the writers to try and create that framing narrative for their stories leaving only the title itself as an attachment to the "event" which in truth now seems like it's going to be a two issue story when all is said and done.

Batman: The Adventures Continue Written by Paul Dini Art by Kevin Altieri Summary: After a break from Poison Ivy and with Catwoman out of town, Harley goes looking to make new friends and gets into trouble. Plot: This book continues to be a fun through back not only to the cartoon series but also Dini's previous run on Detective comics. While previous stories have attempted to adapt new main stream Batman concepts into the animated universe this was more like an homage to what came before with evoking the Harley-led episodes of B:TAS like "Harley's Holiday" and "Harlequinade". Ultimately it's a story light on plot but high on fun so it's definitely a win for me. Art:My biggest drawback is definitely the art. It's a downgrade from the previous issue's efforts. It looks rough, overly cartoony, and not too in-model to the TNBA-ish look that's been established. I do feel bad since Kevin Altieri is a B:TAS vet, but it just wasn't for me. The book says Batman the Animated series on the cover so I expect it to feel just like the show. Grade:7/10

Read some of the stack that I picked up earlier this week. Really digging the new Scarlet Witch series.
Parker Girls has been a slow burn as the case they are working on develops, but I love me some Terry Moore and this series is no exception.
I was excited for a new Bagley Spider-Man series, but I haven't been groovin' to the Spider-Verse arc Slott has been doing so I am not sure how much longer this one will stay on my pull.
I like Duggan's new Iron Man series, but don't love it yet. Waiting to see how this first arc plays out.

A little House of Secrets mixed in there for fun. Also I like the new costume design. From my reading pile, the Wasp mini series continues to crush. Ewing is an amazing writer and blends all of Janet and Nadia's history into a great read. I also have been enjoying King's Danger Street series. For taking such odd concepts from the DC Special series and making into an intriguing read. These are the series I like from Tom King. I find a majority of his DC work terrible. Aside Human Target, Supergirl and his Rorschach series, his batting average wouldn't keep him on the roster. -R

Read some Marvel stuff:
Iron Man has been decent so far... I like the bit of corporate intrigue, but I'm not clear on why Tony is rocking a mullet and an 80s suit.. it's fun, but why? I feel like this story should take place sometime between Armor Wars and Armor Wars II, not now.. I'll take it though.
Moon Knight continues to be good.. and they tied it in to the 90s series, which was neat. I absolutely LOVED the back up story with Blade, very cool.
Monica Rambeau is interesting, but I would have rather seen something other than multiversal nonsense... and why does everyone love the Beyonder again all the sudden?
Legion of X Had a bit of a disappointing conclusion.. I wish Si Spurrier could just write without having to worry about the X-crossover nonsense.
Nightcrawlers Somehow sucked me in even though I try to avoid the events, it DOES kinda follow Spurrier's stuff. I do kinda love Banshee as the 'Spirit of Variance'
