For the first time in several years, I'm healthy enough to post the wrap-up thread in a timely fashion. But while I'm tabulating the results, here's the thread where we discuss the teams that almost made our lists. (I'll post my own later.)
Cei-U! Have at it!

This was my first year participating. It was a lot of fun.
I spent some time researching supervillain teams, but eventually I decided that if I couldn't remember a group off the top of my head they can't have been a favorite. I considered voting for groups like Crime Syndicate of America and Monster Society of Evil, but ultimately they weren't a huge part of my comics experience. I actually had a hard time remembering villain teams from a lot of my favorite titles. I considered groups like The Four and the Outer Church. I also thought about the Minutemen from 100 Bullets, but I ended up going in a different direction breaking my picks down into Silver Age favorites, villain groups from my childhood, and manga picks. I did come close to choosing the Terrifying Three from Astro City, as I quite like Steeljack's storyline.
I also considered a lot of manga villains such as the Awakened Beings in Claymore and the Twelve Kizuki from my daughter's favorite comic, Demon Slayer, but I was happy with the American, British and Japanese balance on my final list.

The Frightful Four, Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and many others were on my short list, but my final choices seemed more apt. I graciously excluded Suicide Squad purely on the (rather frivolous) level that they were doing ‘good guy’ missions for the federal government. Bananaman has some enemies, most notably General Blight, Doctor Gloom and Appleman. Thing is, any time his bad guys have teamed up, it’s been a very loose alliance; secondly, when they have teamed up, they haven’t utilised a team name. Anyway, here’s Blight, Gloom and Appleman:

The nearest miss for me was the Red Skull and Joker in the wonderful Batman & Captain America, and I wasn't surprised to see that several others did indeed include those two on their own lists. I decided to cut them out just because to me they were only a lesser part of what made that whole story so awesome and because Joker was more like the Red Skull's lackey than anything else.
A few others that came under consideration (and I'm glad that others had them on their lists): Fatal Five (Big Man &) the Enforcers Red Ghost and the Super Apes The Elements (from the Avengers) Serpent Squad
I also briefly considered the Squadron Sinister, just because I like the idea of them so much, but honestly, my favorite Squadron stories in which they squared off with the Avengers involved the non-villainous Supreme version. The witchy sisters Arba and Dakarba and Pal and Drum from Groo also came to mind, but honestly, but like everything in the pages of Groo, the adversaries never seem all that threatening (and there's the fact that in Groo's world it's usually Groo himself who's the biggest menace in any given situation).

I really regret not having posted the "Society to Assassinate Plastic Man And Live A Little" (SAPMALAL).
And yes that's real.

Like most of these events, I tend to wing it but definitely have my Top 3 or 4 in place and fill with fun stuff. I knew a lot of us here would have the standards and classics but I wanted to showcase out of the box selections. The ones I had written down I thought about using but knew they'd be there:
- Secret Society of Super Villains - Headmen - Zodiac - Serpent Society - Crime Syndicate of America
The one selection I had that I thought would be on someone's list was the League of Assassins. I know we have Batman fans here, so I'd figured it would've been there. Others I had on my on-the-fly-list were Body Doubles, Justice League Antarctica, the Black Glove, Luthor & Joker (from Dave Gibbons' World's Finest), Superman Revenge Squad, and Tao.

I mentioned most of my also-runs in my round-up posts. The big two I can think of that didn’t show up at all were Two-Face and The Joker in Brave & Bokd 128-129 and most every Bat villain ever (well, up to that point) in Batman #291-294, “Where Were You on the Night Batman was Killed?”

The Headmen kept going off and back on my list, but I figured I'd already done Gerber's weird approach with the Band of the Bland. The Brotherhood of Evil and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants both nearly made it, strong nostalgia pull there. All 3 of those groups got their share of love from others. And rereading the Secret Six led me to finally try their New 52 version. I'd hated the first issue, but I stuck with it this time, and I honestly ended up liking this team better than the one I used. If the book hadn't come out in 2015, I totally would've used both iterations of the team.

The Beagle Boys were on my list initially, but got so much love elsewhere I decided to give a little spotlight elsewhere. The two I thought about including but didn't because I didn't have time to properly track down the books and reread them to get the details right even though both team up stood out in my memory, was the titanic team up of villains against Zot! in Scott McCloud's black and white issues of Zot! and the scheming team up of a pair of the evil gods in the early issues of First Kingdom that ended up having one god exiled to earth to play the Satan role and another banished to the hell of the gods. One was the jealous sibling and the other the trickster, it was like having Loki split into two beings and team up for some scheming among the gods of Asgard all through Jack Katz'a quirky philosophy and views of mythology and human culture. But in the spirit of the nostalgia that informed my early picks, I decided to not dig out those books and stay with choices others might have a shot at relating to and enjoy rather than going obscure with stuff that I might be the only person who's wheelhouse it was in.
In the nostalgia phase, I wish I had thought of Salem's Seven, I really liked them as a kid and 185-186 were 2 of the very few issues of FF I had (and the only consecutive issues of that series I had)

The only one worth mention for me was the Crossbones-Sin-Red Skull from Brubakers Cap run, which I missed doing the minimal research I did on everything else. They did get a mention by someone far more eloquent than I, so theres that. Im also a little shocked(in a good way) that the story is now available to use.

I wanted to include Crash and Burn, a one-shot duo that took on Batman, since I have a 4-page sequence of the original art depicting their origin, from Jim Aparo's final stint inking himself. The concept was a little too dark for this event, though.
The Thunderbolts were right on my initial list, since I enjoyed that book immensely, but I knew they'd be well covered, and I didn't feel like my praise would do the concept justice, since all the good stuff--and there was a lot beyond that memorable initial shock--would demand a re-read I didn't have time for.
In the exercise, I realized I don't have a lot of fondness for many of the Marvel villain teams. I'd completely forgotten the delightful Band of the Bland, so I'm glad Jeddak was here to remind us of them!

The two villainous duos that I considered were:
1. Mentallo and the Fixer from that memorable early SHIELD story. Someone had them on their list, which I was happy to see.
2. The only DC team on my list, Sonar and Hector Hammond from Green Lantern #25, the second comic book I ever read.

My initial list included the original Brotherhood of Evil, the Claremont/Byrne Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, the Monster Society of Evil, The Fearsome Five, and The Beagle Boys but all were bounced for other options. I also considered the pairings of Mentallo/Fixer, Mad Thinker/Puppet Master, Joker/Two-Face (from a B&B two parter), Red Ghost/Unicorn, Braniac/Clayface, Kraven/Vulture (the Blackie Drago version), Moonstone/Blackout, and the triple threat of Tiger Shark/Llyra/Dr. Dorcas. I wish I'd thought of Harley/Ivy, The Ghostly Trio, and Mr. Nice/Mastermind/The Perfessor.
Cei-U! I summon the awrful also-rans!

I was so hoping that there would be an "Almost Made the Cut" thread. I have quite a few that I agonized over. So, here they are.
