I've heard both sides of this and thought I'd put it to an official vote.
*If we stick with a rotating banner, it cannot be slowed down any further without someone offering me serious javascript help
*If we go to a single image, it will be the third one with the mosaic of comic book covers. The "Classic Comics" lettering will be removed since it gets cut off on lower resolution displays.
Chime in!

I don't mind the rotating banners, but prefer a single image. Not sure if it is still possible, but another comic based pro-board I was on had rotating banners, but it only changed when the page was refreshed or you clicked to another part of the forum. So each time the page loaded, it was a different banner, but while you were on one page it stayed the same. Not sure if that is still possible, or a viable compromise between the two options.

I think I'm really going to have to self-educate myself on it if I intend to keep this forum going. For the moment, though, let's assume that option is not on the table.

I think just using the third is the most work-friendly, since it's not immediately recognizable as comics. I remember people being concerned with the background earlier. So, I guess single image to accommodate those with work concerns, but I have no strong feelings either way.

I'd like a single image, and I'd pick the 'top 20' one. I'd be good with it changing on occasion (like once a day or something), but the scroll is pretty fast.

I went with rotating so it will be less boring and it will also snap me out of my trances

It'll be funny to get more votes, than voters, on this one.

Single Image. Change it weekly?

They had a very rich collection of Marvel pictures for their banners, and they'd add new ones as time went on. I think it could work for the Classic Board as well.

I'm really not interested in regularly playing with the look of the site, honestly. I still have the unrealistic hope of going back to being an ordinary poster by next week, just jumping in on the rare occasion something goes wrong.

You should be able to slow down the rotating banner by opening it in Adobe Imageready and duplicating the frames in the timeline.

Single Image. Change it weekly? Perhaps members can try their respective hands at banner artwork? Once some specs are provided....

Maybe we can start a thread where members can post their banner work, other members can comment, and I can pick some, at my discretion, to throw up at the top. I just don't want to create the expectation that they would always be used. I wouldn't want to create any disappointment or hurt feelings.

I've never used a free trial of Adobe Imageready so I'm not sure. Some free trials don't allow for saving at all though.
