There's an antique fair that happens at the end of the month. Sometimes there's comics but found only an issue of Heavy Metal for a buck.

Got a couple e-bay auctions.... Iron Man (v.1) #20 for $6 shipped... tossed a couple others in there the seller had that I wanted (a couple late 70s cap issues, and the DC 1st issue special of the Blue Starman) for another $4. Got 3 Showcases.. Atom, Elongated Man, and Hawkman, for $25.. they'll go nicely for my Silver Age DC review thread, so I can have some variety Lastly, I pick up a lot of 56 Legion books (1/2 from the pre-crisis Levitz run, 1/2 from the Giffen era) for $12, to make the shipping on the James Robinson Shade mini (which was $4, but $5.50 shipping) worthwhile Somehow I always manage to end up with more stuff when I start reading from my 'to read' pile... guess that means I like comics

So over the weekend, my friend who owns the lcs picked up a bulk box of 80s stuff (with a few 70s books here and there) mostly indy stuff, because it had a handful of keys he could sell for the store. However the bulk of the stuff in the boxes wouldn't sell to his customer base, it was stuff that interested me, so I made him an offer to trade him back a bunch of stuff that would move in his shop for the stuff I wanted that wouldn't. So I essentially l gave him a small Diamond box of stuff that was on my old list for the CCE, stuff I didn't want and was the leftovers of what I had sold at the family tag sale two weeks ago at 2/$1 (mostly recent-ish Batman stuff and new52 miscellania) for the following stack of stuff...
Comics Interview #21-24 Amazing Heroes #68-71, 73, 74 Mr. X #4 Cerebus Jam #1 Sgt. Rock #405, 406, (Kubert coves) All Star Squadron #47 (origin of Dr. Fate) Nexus 6, 11-15 Ms. Tree 3-D #1 (Renegade) Ms. Tree #12, 14, 17-20 (Aardvark-Vanheim) Static #11 (Charlton, Ditko) Echo of Future Past #4, 5 Mage the Hero Discovered #6-8 (Comico) Jon Sable, Freelance #27-30 Brian Bolland's Black Book #1 (Eclipse) Coyote #14 (Badger x-over; Scorpio Rose back up) Tales of Terror #1 (Eclipse) John Bolton, Halls of Horror #1, 2 (Eclipse) Alien Encounters #1 (Eclipse) Tales of the Mysterious Traveler #14 (Charlton, Ditko) Sabre #13 Colt #1 (AC Comics, Gulacy cover) The Revengers featuring Megalith #1 The Zero Patrol #2 Wally Wood's THUNDER Agents #2 (Deluxe; Perez cover) Jack of Hearts 1-4 Black Lightning (70's series) 1, 4-10 Iron Man 110
not a bad haul for no outlay from my wallet, just turning stuff I didn't want into stuff I did...

Yeah, I did that a few months back of turning in my first 12 issues of Saga for a bunch of Bronze Age stuff no one wanted. Turning close to $48 bucks of modern comics into close to $450 worth of Bronze was a good deal.
