Ah, those bring back memories. I read several of those MAD paperbacks as a kid in the early 70s. I associate them with the summertime, so I imagine t must have been then that I was most into them. They were where I first got to see some of the Kurtzman-era stuff, as well as the 60s material that was more in the same style that I was used to from the then-new issues.

That would be a boxful of grade school memories for me. I bought the heck out of those and the Peanuts paperbacks through the early 1970's.

My first introduction to MAD was one of those little pocket books. I've forgotten which one of course, but I'd never forget how poor Dagwood was gunned down...

Not so much purchased as acquired. A good friend of mine is cleaning out his family's old general store that's sat pretty much untouched since the 1980s. He's found a few really fun comics for me and continues to look for more: These days, I'm all about the obscure stuff, so the maintenance guide is rocking my world, and I've always loved Life With Archie. Plus Superman fighting a salty seaman sounds all sorts of awful/interesting (interpret that as you may).

I finally got hold of the TPB of the comic adaptation of Dino De Laurentiis' Flash Gordon movie from 1980, by Bruce Jones and Al Williamson. I'm a gig fan of Williamson's art and I love this movie too, but it's taken me years to find a copy of this at a price I was happy with: they seldom come up for sale here in the UK. I'm really pleased to have tracked this down.

The first adaptation I read of this movie was in CRAZY magazine....I think Flash had the same pose on that one.
Apparently there is a hardcover of this too....hmmm.....might check it out....

Does anyone know if there was a Buch Rogers in the same Golden Books format?

Not the actual comics themselves, I've owned them most of my life, but an interesting edition has been added to my collection today:
David Mazzucchelli’s Batman: Year One Artist’s Edition. 🤩
