Well, not my fault, I was playing catch-up, basically. To explain, in August last year, I found an eBay seller who was getting rid of his collection. I was looking for the earlier Stern issues on the Avengers and stumbled upon his auctions. Since then, I've been following them and filling gaps, mostly Bronze Age. He's since changed venue, so I'm buying from other sellers now, but basically what I couldn't buy from him. I'll slow down because I no longer have a timetable to follow. It was his timetable, really. BTW, I didn't quite get that about songs being currency (?). It's an old English expression, with "song" in this context basically meaning "for little in return"

15 different purchases over 10 months, but I get your meaning. Compared to previous years, I'm buying less and less all the time, which is logical since the amount of material that might interest me keeps shrinking. What I've recently been buying more of, are 70's and 80's floppies. Almost no HC or softcover over the past year.

And this is one I've been hunting for a while in the raw-- which is really hard to find, since so many have been slabbed in recent years.
Blue Beetle #1 (1967), featuring the first appearance of Ditko's The Question. This is the last issue I needed to complete the run, and it's a beauty (for a Charlton book), with very light foxing and a minor cover crease. Considering the quality of Charlton paper in general, I'm very pleased to find this one. Staples are clean and tight, no missing chunks, pages or tears.
All the books you posted look great, but extra congrats on this one, that's a huge score! Really nice condition, you're so right about some of these books being hard to find in nice shape unslabbed. I've got the "Modern Comics" reprint of that. Such a beautiful comic. Ditko was at full power during that period.

After mowing the lawn I decided to reward myself and shop for some cheapie comics in New Jersey. This 5 issue set cost 6 bucks and it's Rob Liefelds first shot at a series. It's from this that he was hired by Marvel and the rest is history. This cost a buck and it furthers my Bronze Age JLA hunt.

Wetworks #2, #10, #14, and Sourcebook Rune #0 and #5 Miracleman (2014) #15 So for my mom's birthday in September, I always try to get her something I think she'd really like (even though she's the type of person who asks you point blank "how much did you spend?" when receiving the gift). She's always been very big into Alan Moore and has most of his books, all with the exception of Miracleman #15 (which she almost bought, but turned down because of how pricey it was, only for it to jump up in price as the years went on), so I bought her a copy of the reprint (which is has not been touched at all and is in a plastic bag inside the polybag, Death Of Superman style) And, not wanting to waste 9 bucks in shipping on a ten dollar book, I decided to treat myself and iron out some holes in my Wetworks collection when I got it two years ago. And Rune, love me some Rune. Desperately wanted to finish off the first five issues (already have one thru four) and the mail-away issue zero has been on my want list for ages. Anywho, decently pleased with my purchases

Looks like their last copy too. Of the reprint, that is. Considering she's going to ask, I would've gotten one of the FN copies at Mile High. Less than $80, surely better than FN and with free shipping. And you can quote the regular price on their website ($220) if you want to come off as a king. PS: congrats to your mom on her reading choices. PS II: no comment on your own purchases

PS: congrats to your mom on her reading choices. PS II: no comment on your own purchases Thanks, I wonder sometimes if it wasn't for her, if I would even be as big into the hobby as I am (though my interest in comics kind of didn't reach it's peak until I came back into it in my 20's.). A lot of what she collected, I got into like Dredd, Green Lantern and Shazam And as for the second PS, that's fair. Neither are for everybody

This is a lot of 10 issues of Batman Gotham Adventures that I won in last week's Lonestar auction (plus 3 single issues of the series I got to round out shipping). This one had most of the issues between 50 and 60. I won similar lots (one with most of the issues in the 30s and one with most of the issues in the 40s in previous two weeks-sorry no photos on those) to fill in a large chunk of that 60 issue series (in the 30 books from the 3 lots, 2 were doubles (a copy of #1 in the first lot, which I already had a copy, but this was an upgrade, and one issue in the 30s I already had). With these 3 lots I now have over 2/3 of this 60 issue series, and I hope to start checking the remaining issues if I can find them at shows this fall. I got the lots for an average of $2 per issue before shipping, closer to $2.25 per issue with shipping, which is cheaper than I usually find issues in the wild (even filler issues are usually $3-$5 when I see them at shows unless you luck into a random issue in a dollar bin. I might sees bout selling or trading my extra copy of #1 (which I usually see for $5-$10 at shows when see them to defray the cost of one of the lots, but I'm content if I don't. -M

This just arrived in the mail, the complete collected Hard Time (by Gerber, Skrenes and Hurtt): Found it from an online seller, Kenney's in Ireland, for just under $11 total (I made sure the packing slip with the total in euros is visible so people won't think I'm making it up). Great deal for a 460-page book. This one has been on my want list for years and I'm happy to have found it for such a low price.

This year I have been selling my excess books for a dirt cheap starting price. I just want them out of the house. Too many sellers start their auctions at a high price and it doesn’t sell. I let the market decide.

I don't get new ones often, but this is the last thing I got, while on vacation in the US.

When I went to my lcs to pick up my stuff this afternoon, I discovered the owner had come back form a con in West Virginia this weekend with several short boxes of $3 trades that he had traded another dealer for (essentially each swapping what was dead stock for each of them to get fresh stuff for their stores). I rummaged through the boxes and found a few things, the highlight of which were these two: a digest sized adaptation of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, and an early 80s hardcover edition of the Barks classic Donald Duck and the Golden Helmet. The rest was of more recent vintage, and includes a Red Sonja HC, the first volume of Kill Shakespeare which I have wanted to sample for a while now, a Dragonlance tb an IDW D&D tpd, and a Gaiman/Zulli short story adaptation HC, and a Rebirth Aquaman trade -M
