Got this in the mail today. This completes my long journey to acquire every book that Kirby did in his Fourth World masterpiece. It's a low grade copy but it's all mine !

Archie x39, all pre-1971. 37 are VF or better, the other 2 just need a press to get to VF. Buying really nice copies in bulk saved me buckets of cash. As a bonus, this mix included two #1 nuggets, Archie's TV Laugh Out #1 and Everything's Archie #1, both from 1969.
If my next Archie bundle tops 12, I'll cross 1600+ Archies.

This was a lucky 'random lot with nugget' find....included in this mix of very well-loved used copies was a much nicer, elusive I Dream Of Jeannie #1. Its main flaw is a tiny tape pull from an old price sticker that was placed over the 12c. Midgrade copies still sell for $150 up, (or $674 in VG at Mile High) I got this nice spare for closer to $35.
I'm also building a Bewitched set but the #10 in this mix will be a reading copy.

Some Oksner goodness, this one looks like it just came off the newsstand. I'm not sure if I'll build the entire silver-age DC Special series, but had to get this one with Binky on the cover as it's another humour title I have my sights on (along with Scooter, Debbi etc).

shaxper Those are nice books but why do I have to turn my computer sideways? They are all rare mistake variants where they were all printed sideways.

I'm trying not to buy so much stuff these days but this caught my eye and had to get it Ward's work in Cracked always bothered me. I loved the rendering and shading, but the proportions or something really creeped me out. Then, when I was in high school and was trading Mini comics in the mail, some guy sent me his Bill Ward underground hardcore porn comic. That REALLY creeped me out for some reason, and now I can hardly stand to look at the stuff from Cracked or elsewhere.

The late smut era of Ward's work, along with his Cracked stuff was terrible. I know he was just accepting gigs to pay the bills but the artwork was majorly on the decline. It always made me sad that a genius of the 50s/60s Humorama stuff and pin-ups couldn't get something steady like DeCarlo or transition into advertising and comics.

Won another Toth book in a recent Lonestar auction-the 15 cent variant of Four Color #790-The Wings of Eagles. I ordered a few more recent books to round out the order, mostly filler reads form the $1 sale, but I did also get this Amanda Connor Krypto variant that I posted in the recent thread on dogs in comics... I think I now have 4 of the 7 Krypto variants Conner did. Love me some Krypto. -M

I stopped at Zapp comics in NJ and picked up some dollar books. I'm thinking of putting together a Dazzler run. I also thought of The Captain and got this Rom book.

Those are two series (Dazzler and ROM) that I never got into. I have maybe 3 issues of Dazzler and a half-dozen ROM, and most assuredly not that Rick Jones travesty

I never read them either.
