There's a collection called Romance Without Tears which has a lot of the best St. John's romance stories from the early 50s, most of which are drawn by Matt Baker. DC also put out a Showcase volume of Young Love in black and white covering all the Mary Robin RN stories. I’m afraid to ask what they cost. I’m sure low print run and oop will jack up the DC young love book.

Does anyone know of any collected Romance story TPB's or omni's ? There are several hardcover collections of Kirby Romance comics. Also think thete is a collected Vince Colletta Romance trade listed on his son's internet site. Other than Archie stuff (which I know you won't collect) I don't believe there is much out there. You said the magic word. Vince Colletta.

Does anyone know of any collected Romance story TPB's or omni's ? I have a copy of Agonizing Love, which is pretty good and is all color scans. It’s like $35 new on Amazon, but used copies like min run $12-20. The Showcase Presents: edition of Young Love, is pretty cheap when you can find it, but unlike the first book I mentioned, the Showcase Presents is a black & white edition.

Wow.. Epics at Ollies?? That's exciting, and I do have the day off tomorrow... Last year I found some Star Wars Epic Collection at Dollarama (store where nothing cost more than 4$ Canadian). They always have DC and Marvel TPB, some HC, but the Epic Collection I couldn't believe it.

Does anyone know of any collected Romance story TPB's or omni's ? I have everything that's already been mentioned, plus a pretty large collection of original DC romance comics from the 1960s (thanks to eBay). But a couple of collections not mentioned above are these: Heat Throbs: The Best of DC Romance Comics - got this from the Strand Return to Romance: The Strange Love Stories of Ogden Whitney

I just checked Ollie's "store locator" on their website. The nearest ones to me are in Amarillo, TX and Wichita, KS. I'm in Portland, OR. I don't think I'll be shopping there anytime soon.

I think that I shall never see....an Ollie's ever near me. Texas just not close enough for making any good deals on prices for me. Such is life waiting for the next Phoenix Fan Fusion so I can hunt for deals. Dang Phoenix sucks when it comes to great low priced outlets.

At my local Ollie's (and I live within a 25 minute drive of three of them), I've only ever seen Epics there once, but none recently. In the past, I've picked up a number of Marvel Complete Collections, some DC Showcase Presents, and one Marvel Omnibus (the Guardians of the Galaxy Solo Classics, for $20). Every so often I will pop in and find a new TPB or two that I don't own the issues for, but the closest one to me hasn't restocked their comics section in months, so I always leave disappointed.

I only went because mrp got good stuff and I was hoping it was a national thing. I was glad to find out it was true.

There are four Half-Price Books in the Pittsburgh area, one about 15 minutes from home, the others all at least 40 minutes, so I pick the nearby one clean of anything I’m interested in on a regular basis (it is literally right across the street from my usual LCS, so it isn’t even a special trip).

Many of the smaller family run bookstores have been closing up over the last several years. They cannot compete against the larger used stores encompassing books/music/toys. As well, used stores rely upon collector(s) selling off their stuff while discount shops have access to a larger backlog of stock. We have 2 Half Price bookstores, one is about 40 minutes from me with the other a good hour+ if lucky. Local brick and mortar options are becoming less viable if you hope to physically hunt for deals.

As part of my Black Friday travels, I stopped by one of my occasional haunts for comics and cards. They were having a deal where you got 20% off your purchase if you spent $50 or more, and as I had been neglecting my collection for a while, as well as needing to pick up some things for friends, I got the following for my Jonah Hex run:
