I'm not usually big on Conan but this Treasury had a number of things going for it. 1. Lovely condition; 2. British 50p variant, these are difficult to come by; 3. The cover is aesthetically pleasing....maybe combination of artwork and colour but it's really nice to look at. This will be going in a Mylar Treasury bag so it lasts another 44 years...
That's one of a few classic Marvel Conan offerings I don't have yet. Nice pick up! -M

(...) and a book I've owned a few times but my recent organizing revealed I did not currently have a copy of, Chaykin's Dominic Fortune in Marvel Premiere... (...) Oh, yeah. Wonderful book. Of course - he says smugly - I had my copy signed by a certain someone...

Millennium Edition facsimile of Jimmy Olsen #1 A little Jimmy Olsen goes a long way. I bought a lot of the Millennium Editions and I wouldn’t pass this up! I still read it from time to time. Jimmy is hilarious! I’d like to write a Jimmy Olsen mini-series titled “WTF, Jimmy!?” I have to admit that I have almost no respect for reprint titles. The exception being the very early Silver Age giant sized books like Marvel Fantasy, Marvel Tales, Collectors Items Classics. I had just about all those Millennium issues and sold them off in the 2002 purge. Some for a slight profit.

I really like the Millennium Editions, Milestone Editions, Silver Age Classics, and other facsimile editions, especially for books that I would never pay the going rate for but would enjoy reading. I'll snap them up whenever I see them if I don't own them already. Not to mention it's a way for publishers to make money off of in demand books in their back catalog that they wouldn't see form sales in the secondary market. If only the original creators saw more (or any) of that money it would be even better. -M

You have a point. It’s a really good filler for gaps in collections.

Yeah, sometimes a necessary evil. True Believers, Dollar Comics, Millennium Editions, Milestone... they all mess up the covers.

But more importantly Icc, what color do you choose to paint ol' plaster jaws? Original primer grey, lawn green, jade green, lime green, red, yellow or blue?

Yeah! That is a beautiful cover! That fire shows some real color sensitivity.

Nice to see the covers. What was DC thinking when they produced PLOP ? They weren't really known for their "Mad" type humor comics . It had cool Sergio Aragones bits but it wasn't really great. Ha... I was just going to post that DC needs to do a nice collection of PLOP!... I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree!
