I bid on Detective Comics #272. It’s listed as 3.5 to 4.0. I’ll know if I won tomorrow night! It’s one of those “Batman and Robin fight a dumb monster” covers. Good luck!

I stumbled into a small occasional side job and recently got paid, so you guessed it, one more last 'last order'... just the whole blamed Captain America werewolf saga #401-408! I'm blaming CCF for making me aware of this one. Wolf Pack attack! Raaahrr! I'll hafta pass on getting the action figure though... Also checked off the want list are Captain America, Sentinel Of Liberty (late '90s) #7-12, Spider-Girl #29-31, a couple new True Believers cheapies (reprinting FF #52 and Avengers #83), and The Comet #4 just 'cause it was there. Most of these were under $2 can., and I feel lucky to snag a couple of those '90s Caps as they seem to be on the rise with two Falcon appearances. This should hold me into the nieuwjaar.

My friends used to mock me for liking Wasp and Ant-Man. You mean they stopped?

I couldn't find or afford the first Wasp comic so I'd had to settle for the first Fly-Girl... heck (Don), even the True Believers reprint of the first Wasp was a bit difficult to locate!

I guess I'm prejudiced. I've ranted often about not liking vampires or Frankenstein's monster in superheroes comics and here I am enthusing about werewolves in them! I would think it was great if all the superheroes turned werewolf for some big continuity event! Wolf Planet! Maybe with a perpetual full moon. Only The Vision and a few like that would be immune and would have to find a cure. It's sort of like those DCs where characters would turn into Gorillas, only wolves are even cooler somehow. I should try and get into Red Wolf sometime too, only have a Tigra or two with him.

If by 'lately' we mean late September (with bill paid in mid-October); it only arrived in the mail today, a few days short of two full months after it was sent: Anyway, I'd been wanting this book for ages, and finally snagged a cheapie used copy, altogether with postage from the UK, it cost me about $12. I'm happy, and relieved that the damn package finally arrived...

Part of a bundle that's on the way.
Has 1966 nicely printed on the cover, and is in very nice shape for a book 54 years old.

Just won a 1957 album of Spirou in terrible condition for one and a half euro which I'm assured is complete (apart from one small tear on an unimportant page). A fun bookbinding project before I get to read it.

Just got my last 'last order' today, mostly the Cap Wolf saga, but also a couple more Spider-Girls, and a few bargain impulse additions. I don't have any regular Wally West modern Flash comics but I thought I'd take a chance on this one JSA guest issue set in 1940s Las Vegas, it looked like it would be a fun read! I took the chance on it being a stand-alone story, and it is! Would definitely appeal to people who liked the earlier Straszewski/Parobeck comics, or the Byrne Wonder Woman cross-over... I might even add Flash #145-150, a six part story including Jay Garrick, and by the same team to my want list now.

Well since I am still working, I picked up a few more things. Finished off two mini-runs, The Son of Tomahawk run at the end of the Tomahawk series, and the short-lived 80s revival of Mystery in Space... knocked off another of the Silver Age Hawkman run (#13) and picked up a great Kubert Hawk-cover from JLA... -M

The revived Mystery In Space, even if they may've had some content that was intended for the Time Warp title it replaced, was still a highlight of early '80s DC! The Kubert covers alone were usually worth the 50 cents, like the Kaluta covers were worth the $1 for Time Warp. Funny how difficult it was to sell science fiction comics other than Star Wars post-Star Wars... Star Hunters and Logan's Run both had short lives, in a way only Rom and The Micronauts had longevity if you count them as a sf.
