The Absolute Edition of Top 10, probably Alan Moore's finest hour with superhero comics (with equally estimable art by Gene Ha & Zander Cannon, too). Should be here by week's end. This was probably the last thing I *** loved *** that Moore did. I couldn't believe more people weren't nuts about this. ABC was the best imprint at the time. They were all must have's, and I'm not sure which was better, this or Promethea.
Tom Strong would be immediately following.

Had a coupon for my LCS that expired today - buy 2 used TPB, get 2 free - so I ended up with the following:
The Complete Persepolis Creepy: The Classic Years Runaways vol. 1 On Stage (by Leonard Starr)

Persepolis is so awesome! I loaned mine out and never got it back! (They have it at the library. I should check it out. I haven't read it in a while but I did see the movie (again) about a year and a half ago.)

Just ordered a handful of issues of Usagi Yojimbo. This will give me a complete run of the first series from Fantagraphics. I already have the Mirage series #1-15, so once I get these I will be able to finally read vol. 1 #24-38 and vol. 1 #1-15. I gather that the Mirage #16 is going to be the sticking point in this collections, so hopefully I will be able to find a reasonable copy sooner rather than later.
I also bought the first Usagi Yojimbo tpb, which collects his appearances in Albedo and Critters, as I'd rather not take up a ton of time, money and space tracking down a run of Critters.

Walked down to the local comic/record/book shop yesterday. Spent a solid hour or so going through every long box. I have visited numerous times and picked up some stuff. Mostly, it is all newer and a lot of late 80's early 90's junk. But now, I am content in knowing all that is there and that there are no hidden gems. Snagged these two from the boxes. The ASM issue is always getting silly money online, from $5 to $15 to $50! Is it actually a low print run? Is it because of the Silver Surfer/Carnage combo? Meh, for $3 a snagged it. And the World War Hulk ish is a series I was recommended to read as a gateway to Hulk so I snagged it for $2. Attachment Deleted

Got a huge haul from a local can Sunday. Will be posting bits of it at a time. First up, the magazines Moebius's Blueberry 1-4 for me and Den 1 of the Neverwhere series by Richard Corben for my girlfriend. I grabbed all those Moebius Blueberry editions about a year ago on ebay; it was a pain finally tracking down Blueberry 5 for a decent price. I'm hoping that Moebius' wife will get her act together and sanction a comprehensive English language Moebius collection in the near future. One can only dream...

Home from StebbinsCon and came home with a decent haul today. Started the day before the con opened going through a friend who is a dealer's boxes of $5 trades and snagged these 2... the softcover Marvel Masterworks Silver SurferVol. 2 and Marvel Firsts the 1970s vol. 3 which has first appearances/1st issues of Skull the Slayer,Champions, Ulysses Bloodstone, Black Goliath, Star Lord, Guardians of the Galaxy sort of (Marvel Presents 3 not Marvel Super-Heroes 18), Omega the Unknown, The Eternals, Nova, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Woman, What If?, 3-D Man, Devil Dinosaur, Moon Knight sort of (back up from Hulk mag #11 not Werewolf by Night), and She Hulk. Later in the day stopped by another dealer I knew, who had a box of Silver/Bronze readers for $3 each and picked up the following... Tales of Sword & Sorcery: Dagar the Invincible #1 and #4 (that makes 3 issues I have now in a span of 3 days). and these 3, 2 Kuberts and a Wrightson... Weird Mystery Tales DC Super Spectacular#4 (100 page giant), Star Spangled War Stories #129 and 80 Page Giant #7, Sgt. Rock' Prize Battle Tales. All 5 of these for $15. Just before I left, I went over and saw the guy I bought my Conan #1 from at Gem City, and he had more stuff for sale, so I ended up giving him more of my money, picking up the following... a trio of covers featuring lovely ladies... Shanna the She-Devil #1 and #2, plus DC Super-Stars #11 the Super-Stars of Magic, with Zatanna cover and then some wonderful work by Gray Morrow and NEal Adams (a cover that blew me away in last week's Cover Contest, so when I saw if for $3 I had to have it....) Red Circle Sorcery #9 and Tomahawk #116. Finally, I couldn't let the day go by without a little Conan action so picked these up from him as well... Savage Sword of Conan #10 and #13. In the end, got all 7 books from him for $20, with the Shanna #1 being the priciest at a whopping $6. I saw, but did not have the scratch for, an absolutely gorgeous copy of Savage Sword #1, at the dealer who had the $3 silver/bronze box. HE opened it up for me to look at, gorgeous white pages, and the cover was so glossy it put a lot of current comics to shame for glossiness. It had a minor corner crease in the lower left corner, but that was the only blemish. It was so nice I would be afraid to read it, but I didn't have the $250 he was asking to spend on a book, even that nice a copy. Still quite happy with what I got and what I paid for it all. -M

Thats an insane price Jez.I actually read them all.First off,it was a Garth Ennis book so I was there. But suprisingly it remained good even after he left (#6 was the last of his?) and kept me guessing where it was going to go.Any Punisher fan should enjoy it. It petered out the last 2-3 issues but it was worth the ride.Enjoy your bounty

Thats an insane price Jez. I know, it's my best 'current issue' buy for the year as far as price-per-book goes.
