Some things don't need a thread of their own, books get optioned but actual series could be years away, stuff gets cancelled, directors, writes, cast get hired/fired etc. all of interest, none of which need it's own thread, so this can be the place for all of that. A one-stop shop of sorts. To start things off, not sure how many heard but Netflix had optioned Matt Wagner's Grendel for a proposed 8 episode series. Today they announced they are not moving forward with the project. There is a possibility it could be shopped elsewhere. -M

This made me smile, I'll admit! The subtitles were a nice touch.

If there were ever a comic book series that perfectly lent itself to a streaming adaptation, it's Devil by the Deed. Maybe Netflix got spooked by the pedophilia undertones. They drew a ton of criticism for "Cuties" a little while back, as most will recall.

Bassam Tariq has left the MCU Blade film as director (he will remain as executive producer) due to changes in the production schedule. It seems it was an amicable and mutual decision. Also, it looks like it might be filming in Cleveland in November (unless the director change halts production for a bit) and they are looking for extras. Here your chance to be in the MCU shaxper-M

Maybe Netflix got spooked by the pedophilia undertones. They drew a ton of criticism for "Cuties" a little while back, as most will recall. I have a feeling they didn't want to touch God and the Devil and Devil's Legacy might make someone squeamish, too. Who knows. Cost might have been a factor if they wanted to go beyond Devil by the Deed or even just in rendering Argent. Who knows what the trigger was, given Netflix's financial situation. May have been as simple as being too afraid to take a chance on something like that, vs something with more name recognition or more familiar genre.

For a movie that's two years out, they sure are working hard on the marketing.
