Michael Eury, who I’m sure you all know as editor of Back Issue and RetroFan, has posted on his FB page that he is terminally ill. He has Waldenström Macroglobulinemia Lymphoma, an extraordinarily rare cancer.
Don’t know what to add to that. I’m not sure how visible his post will be to those who don’t have a FB account (I’ve never been sure if non-FB members can view a FB member’s post).
He did say this:
I hope it was okay to share his personal anecdote, I hope I haven’t stepped on any privacy (I suspect the news may make it elsewhere). Whether he has months or years left, I wish him well. Those are beautiful words of his.

Certainly thinking about him and his overwhelming diagnosis.

Recall his early days, as an assistant to Diana Schutz, at Comico, then editor, when she left the company. All you can do, in a situation like this, is lend your support and hope he is as comfortable as he can be.

This is very sad news. I have enjoyed all of his endeavors, from writing and editing, to his work with Twomorrows. Hi is a kindred spirit to us all, indeed. His words on putting divisions aside are the words of a man who has greater things to contemplate.

When he (and other TwoMorrows writers) write about a subject, I am automatically interested. For instance, Back Issue did an issue mainly focusing on Firestorm, a character I had little interest in, but by the end of it, I was intrigued by the character and wanted to explore him further.
The house style, if that is the right term, of TwoMorrows is a good one. They really delve into stuff. They’re insightful, educational and informative.

Incredibly tragic news. I've followed Eury's work for years, and his passion for the medium is unmatched. He will be missed.

This is horrible news. I'm a longtime fan of his work at TwoMorrows. He puts a whole lot of research into his articles for Back Issue magazine.

This is terrible news. I've met Michael, and he's a terrific guy. He deserves better and I wish him all the best.
Cei-U! I summon the sadness!

Not overly familiar with him by name, but I'm sure I've read tons of his stuff, as I love Back Issue. Sad to hear.
