Is there a way to post images from my pc? I have a digital comic collection and would like to use images from it as an example to whatever topic is the target. Much better than hunting for a web-based image. I've tried screen snip but it's not url-based and none of these auto buttons accept it. Also don't want to be bothered with opening an account with a photosharing app

The only way I've ever found is exactly what you've decided to rule out. I use imgur. It is possible to set the site itself to store/host photos, but we pay for the amount of monthly storage we use, so the cost to maintain the CCF would quickly become astronomical if we went that route. Photosharing is the only other option I know of.

Also there's alot of verbage of uploading images that can be violating someone's copyright, which technically means no Marvel or DC image posts, just public domain. Has that been an issue with any users?

Has that been an issue with any users? That's right. It's free and you just copy and paste the url to post here. I use it for almost all my images on this board. and the copyright stuff if boilerplate. I never had any issues with posting comic images there. And, unless you attempting to post entire comics, almost everything we post here falls under fair usage provisions.

Not only is it free, but you don't even need to register or set up an account--unless you want or need to save images or create a personal album of images. I only use Imgur for posting images here and on other forums, so I've never felt a need to set up an account. It's easy to use. Upload the image , then you can edit it (resize it, crop it, etc.), and then choose the correct share option. For forums like this one it's the BBCode option.

Right. Just copy the BBCode link ... and then paste that right into your post. No need to do anything else such as click "Insert Image" or add brackets, etc.
I see you've figured it out, so this ^^^ is just in case someone else wants to know how add images to posts using Imgur.

If you do want to use the insert image button with Imgur, just copy and paste the URL addy of the pic on Imgur and paste it into the box. Either way works just fine.

You've clearly got it! The problem with image hosting services, of course, is that they can shut down on a moment's notice or set up a paywall, but unless someone decides to host a CCF file sharing server out of the kindness of their hearts, this is the best solution we've got.
