I guess I'm not sure what the poll is asking. Are we voting for ones we like or the worst one? Thor/frog is great. Just weird fun. The only other one I know anything about it six-armed Peter and that was perfectly fine for a one-off storyline. Yeah, I messed up. I meant for it to ask which one was the worst. I'll flip my answer then, I was a faithful X-Men reader when Warren became Dark Angel, and it was too depressing for me. The sight of him with his original wings off as the transformation began really shocked me at the time, I was actually kind of horrified. While Angel was never a favorite character of mine before that, it was just another sign the "times were a-changin'" into modern grittiness. I wish he had made a full recovery somehow instead of carrying on as Archangel.

He did return to a more human form with real wings but I think he kept the blue skin for a while at least.

I chose Other. Specifically Wonderman. From the mullet to the energy being to being a pacifist. I have nothing against pacifists but what the hell was the point to of making Simon so whiney?

As I wrote my last post it occurred to me are these transformations we liked or disliked?
I stick by Wonderman being a transformation I disliked. But I cast another “other” transformation I liked” vote for the Hulk. Specifically, Peter David’s Grey Hulk Mr. Fixit. Not to mention the Peter David Dale Keown transformation as well

My vote goes to Angel Punisher. I am certain that was the series Wrightson drew and the only reason I bought the issues. But taking the "edge" off the Punisher by making him a angelic righteous hitman just didn't work for me. And I am not even a Punisher fan in the least.
Wolf-Cap and Archangel I both like. I'm also not consistently a fan of either character and just cherry pick stories about them that look/sound interesting. Cap-Wolf I actually got told about from someone at the LCS when I was buying Man-Wolf issues. And I was "woah a were-wolf Steve?! Hell yeah I wanna read that!" I found Angel not a very interesting character, be that the fault of the character itself, or writers not knowing how to utilize him. So the extreme transformation to Archangel and actually fighting alongside Apocalypse to start was interesting reading.
And of course Frog/Thor was awesome. How can you not like a Frog wielding Mijnoir? Better idea than the usual gender bending characters to try and grab sales.
I know nothing of Wasp and Spidey. I only have a handful of issues around the time Thing got that transformation. But I have no idea the story behind why that happened to him.

Given the longevity of comic book series, some writers choose to change the appearance of characters to create excitement. And sometimes itself exciting, it's goofy or silly. Which transformations work and which ones were dumb? Capwolf What are we votin' for here, young fella? Cause if'n we vote for what works, we ain't voting for what's dumb; and if'n we vote for what's dumb, we ain't votin' for what works. Sorry... just rewatched Raising Arizona.

I don't care what anyone says, the 6-arm Spider-Man story with Morbius was great fun. Of course, I wouldn't have wanted it to stick, but as a one or two issue stunt, yeah, it was fine.

I've never read any of the six-armed Spider-Man comics but visually I don't like the look. Maybe if they'd had the extra arms in costume instead of just bare skin, though they'd have to come up with something to explain that away in the story, of course.

That was just a fun, three-part story (ASM 100-102) that also included the first appearance of Morbius. It's worth checking out.

God, that's a terrible Captain America cover. Is his head supposed to be connected to his body?
Of the transformations you listed, the Wasp is the worst and Thor is the best. I agree with everyone that the Spidey story is great fun. I never cared for Angel or Archangel. As far as I'm concerned, the peak of his existence is that Alex Ross cover.
I collected that Fantastic Four run as back issues when I was a kid. She-Thing was the bigger transformation. The Thing with boobies!

I just remember thinking "Good luck hiding that from Aunt May."
But I don;t know how we're even having this conversation without talking about this guy...

Thor was by far my favorite here, in terms of a transformation I actually enjoyed.
I was of two minds about Archangel. I decried it as part of tedious 90s trend, and missed the old Angel … on the other hand, I realised that being a prettyboy who could fly just didn't have the pull it did in the 60s, so maybe adding a touch of Wolverine may have made him a more credible member of a team in which several other members could fly.

Voted "other". I was a fan of the electric Superman when the comics were coming out. The post- Death & Return Supes with the long hair had come to disinterest me, so this shake-up of the status quo was a welcome change of pace for me. In hindsight, I realize it was a questionable decision to change the iconic Superman into such a generic superhero defined by a single gimmick, so I'm glad it wasn't permanent.
