If you could acquire the original art to any comic book published cover, single page, or multi-page spread (so must be a "comprehensive" image), and there were no barriers to cost, pieces thought lost/damaged were still intact, etc., what would you pick and why?
You get just one choice...and one very important limitation: you never get to sell it or profit financially in any way. This is not a "hold for speculation" choice, but what would you appreciate the most artistically, nostalgically, historically, etc.

An original E.C. Segar Popeye strip... any year or storyline. They are fantastically expensive.

They have a few original Popeye strips in the collection (a lot of other Segar as well plus a ton of work by other major cartoonists). cartoons.osu.edu/

The John Buscema-Bill Everett centerspread from the 1968 Avengers Annual showing every member of the team (except Swordsman) up to that point.
Cei-U! How many of you thought I'd pick a Pogo Sunday strip?

I think I want the page from Avengers #4 where Cap puts on his mask in the submarine and takes on the group to prove who he is. edit: either of these will do

I'm a big fan of Tales of the Jedi. This series had the best depiction of the Jedi/Sith. Before the dark times. Before the prequels.

Love all of these! Had to think hard, but I think this is the one for me (with an honorable mention to acquiring an original Windsor McCay Little Nemo in Slumberland strip):

(...) This painting by Don Newton. Yep, that one came to mind for me as well. There's a number of Charlton painted covers from around that time not just by Newton, but also Tom Sutton, Joe Staton and John Byrne, among others, that I similarly wouldn't mind having as framed paintings. I suppose my second choice would be this one, my favorite E-man cover:

I've held it my hands and took a photo with it. It's even more beautiful in person.
