This is a common question we get from new members, so I thought it would make sense to answer it here:
You are able to create your own discussion thread only after making five posts in reply to other discussions. The purpose of this is two-fold:
1. It prohibits 99% of spam-bots from flooding the forum with advertisements.
2. It requires members to be good listeners, as well as good talkers. If you have come here to be read, but you aren't interested in reading what anyone else has to write, then you probably aren't a very good fit for this community. Take some time to familiarize yourself with the members here and their topics of discussion before expecting an attentive audience. That's just good manners.
Please do not spam five meaningless replies to other threads just to meet the criteria. That will result in immediate removal from the community. We're a friendly and respectful bunch; show us your ability to be the same by making some genuine contributions to the conversation -- even if it's just to let someone know how much you appreciate a point they have made or information they have shared.
