 Published: August 2020 Synopsis: Usagi is back in his home province for a pilgrimage to his late lord’s gravesite, however wearing the Mifune clan crest in Lord Hikiji’s territory has made him an enemy. Now beaten and almost near death, he has made his way to the one place he had been avoiding—the village in which he grew up. Nice set up issue using dreams and flashback memories for bringing readers up to date with Usagi's early childhood as he awakes from his beating back in his home village. His situation is revealed very effectively with an interesting plot turn for ending this 1st chapter.
Usagi as a child is pure fun to enjoy with and his giant carp catching is humorous without being over the top silly. But I'm not sure I want to fishing where the catch is bigger than I am. That's gonna be a big barbecued fishie along with one giant pot of fish broth!
