-Cap receives a phony radio distress call from a resistance group in Sin Cong and summons the rest of the Avenger
-Wanda wears a signal device in the form of a broach, and receives the signal taking her away from the performance of the play
-the Avengers answer Cap’s summons, but Pietro questions why they are getting involved in international affairs when they are crime fighters

-the Avengers arrive in Sin Cong but are expected and taken into custody.
-Wanda comments on the contrast of the splendor of the government HQ amidst the squalor of the starving masses
-the trap is sprung by the Commisar and his troops and Cap reacts immediately causing Wanda to marvel that he was born to lead
-fighting ensues
-Wanda uses a “simple quick-acting hex” to jam the gun barrels of the soldiers, but more soldiers come and she cannot hex them all
-Cap then implements a plan/tactic that leads to a quick victory over the Commisar’s guards, and Wanda compliments him for wresting victory from defeat
-however, Wanda then triggers another trap set by the Commisar and falls through the floor, calling for help, but the floor stone snaps shut again before any of the other Avengers can aid her
-the Avengers hear a scream by Wanda from below & Pietro races off to find her leaving Cap and Hawkeye behind
-he finds Wanda bound and blindfolded
-Wanda tells him she cannot use her hex power because of the blindfold (which makes no sense given what we know of her powers-she has to gesture, so it would make sense she cannot use her hexes if she is bound, but blindfolded???)
-the other Avengers arrive and help Pietro to try to free her, but sleep gas fills the corridor knocking them all out and thy are taken captive again
-they awaken as the Commisar himself now faces them, using Wanda’s safety as leverage-she is still bound and blindfolded in the unbreakable glass cage, and the Commisar threatens to have his second in command, the major press a button killing her instantly if the Avengers do not agree to his terms-i.e. each of them must have him in one-on-one combat
-the Avengers agree and the Commisar brings in an audience of peasants to witness his pending propaganda victory
-the Commisar defeats all three male Avengers in turn with ease and starts to declare victory over the Avengers, but Cap challenges him saying he has not faced all of the Avengers yet, having not faced Wanda and insinuates he is afraid to face a female in combat
-The Commisar agrees to face her, but Pietro tries to object, but Wanda agrees to the confrontation. As she is freed from the glass cage, Cap whispers secret instructions to her
-Wanda faces the Commisar but asks why the major always disappears behind a curtain while the Commisar fights.
-Wanda uses a hex to burn away the curtain revealing a complex control panel and then hexes the control panel destroying it
-the Commisar collapses, revealed to be a robot, and the major slips away, escaping in the confusion
-the grateful crowd bears Wanda away on a litter as she again compliments/defends Cap from Hawkeye’s criticism
