So it looks like I am going to have all of next weekend off-the owner of my place of employment usually closes New Years Day, but this year she has decided to close the 1st, 2nd and 3rd, so I am going to have some extra time to do what I enjoy, so I am going to indulge in reading one of the many runs I have had on my radar. There are 25 choices in the poll. Some are first time reads, some are rereads. I am closing in on finishing a read through of Conan the Barbarian #1-100, which I will finish before New Years, so the question is what do I want to read after that. I am a bit indecisive, so I am throwing it up for a vote to get input from the folks here. You can simply vote in the poll, or make a case for your choice in a post. The poll closes on the 1st and I hope to start whichever run is chosen (and finish if it is one of the shorter ones) over the 3 days off I have.
I look forward to seeing what folks have to say...

Some good runs there to choose from, but I went with The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones. That's such an underrated series. It really captures the spirit and vibe of Raiders and Temple of Doom, with some really great writing by the likes of Denny O'Neil and David Michelinie, and art by such greats as John Byrne, Ron Frenz, and Steve Ditko. It's a fantastic film spin-off series. You could even read it and do a short review thread at the same time, so I can read along too and chime in. But regardless of whether you have time for that, this series is still my suggestion.

But regardless of whether you have time for that, this series is still my suggestion. I've found that for me, doing review threads sucks all the enjoyment out of reading a run and makes it feel like an obligation/job rather than something I am doing for enjoyment, so I have abandoned any ideas of doing devoted review threads. If I read something and have something to say about it, I might post in the "what have you read lately (classic or modern) threads" but there won't be a review thread in my future. I know others enjoy doing them, and I enjoy seeing others do them, but after doing a few, it's not for me. -M

Thoughts on series voted for so far...
Sandman Mystery Theatre-I read the first 3 or 4 arcs a year or so back to make sure I liked it before committing to filling in all the gaps I had. I really liked it, and I finally finished the series earlier this month so it's now on my TBR.
Further Adventures of Indiana Jones-I had started reading the run just before I had emergency surgery a few years back and was about a third of the way through but didn't pick it back up after I got home because it was on a different floor of the house. By the time I was doing stairs again I was engrossed in other reads and never got around to getting back to it, so it made my 2021 TBR list.
Incal-this would be a reread (I think the 5th time I would be reading this), but after reviewing works for this year's 12 Days of Classic Christmas, I got a hankering to revisit some of the old favorites by my choices, so Incal came on the radar for my 2021 TBR.

I suggest the Jonny Quest run. Finished up my own reading this summer and it hit all the proper notes for me. Reliving childhood classic television viewing, seeing classic characters acting/sounding as remembered. I got to experience new adventures with a beloved cast. There is splendid adventures and touching emotional moments to be found.
And best of all, it is fun, entertaining and cool looking!

That was another one I started just before I had my surgery and never got back to. I really dug the first 6-8 issues, which is all the far I got to. There are a couple of series like that on this list. -M

I second brutalis' suggestion of Jonny Quest.
Cei-U! I summon Comico's best!

I voted for getting Bone-itis. But Jonny Quest is an excellent option.

I voted for Brubaker's Captain America (big surprise, I know), but I can also support Indiana Jones. I read that a few years back and really enjoyed it.

I haven't read much from the various choices. I read the first Sandman Mystery Theatre TPB years ago and liked it, although it didn't blow me away. I voted for Silver Age Hawkman because I'm thinking of reading it myself. Also, ever seen I saw that a Phantom Stranger Omnibus was coming out, I've thought about reading that.
I had thought about starting a poll for my next reading choices a few times, but sort of chickened out from fear of limited responses.

DC Tarzan. Love Kubert writing and drawing Tarzan. Tarzan, either DC or Marvel is a good read. Though they are more summer time reading to me. Reminds me of being a kid, relaxing in the backyard with a big glass of lemonade or iced tea after mowing the yard. Fresh cut lawn n the summer heat helps provide a jungle mood...

I voted for Evanier & Spiegle's Blackhawk.
I've read most of what's listed but only a few issues of this run and want to read it for myself as well.

Assuming it isn't a re-read, I voted SSoC. I might have voted the Incal if mrp hadn't mentioned that that would be a re-read. Not that I'm against re-reading - I do it myself quite often - but I think it's good to discover something new: your old favourites will always be there for you when you need them.
