I am rereading John Buscema's FF and I have to say not impressed with his Watcher. I'm also never been a fan of George Perez's Wolverine Anyone else have favorite artists whose drawings of some characters fall short?

What issue is that? Looks more like Buscema layouts and a inker finished. Maybe that's why it looks weird. He he drew a much more robust watcher.

Not sure where mine is from but it has Buscema/Palmer art in the description. Maybe its Palmer finishes. I tried to use the photo you posted but I couldn't get it to save. Regardless still not liking his Watcher

At this point in their work together Palmer was doing a lot more finishing than just inking.

Where is the George Perez X-Men/X-Factor image from? Yes, he draws Wolverine and some other characters differently, but it's fun seeing Perez draws those characters in that era. It would've been cool if he had more opportunities to draw the X-Men during his career.

I don't find any of the examples posted so far all that bad. Maybe Wolverine is a little over-muscled, but I've seen worse renditions. The again, not a favourite character of mine, admittedly, so I can't imagine a rendition that would look good!
The only complaint I might have about the Perez drawing is the unimaginative square-on camera angle, something that often throws me off with this kind of thing. The Buscema/Palmer Watcher strikes me as an interesting re-imagining of the character's look - not sure I prefer it to the traditional, but I don't hate it. Perhaps they were trying to link the Watchers to Tana Nile's people!
