The first part of my two part discussion of Richard Dragon, Kung-Fu Fighter with Metarog is now up! There were some audio issues with the news guest Q&A unfortunately so I had to cut it.

Really cool stuff, gentlemen!
"I guess they're Catholic" had me laughing out loud.
I've got only two issues of Richard Dragon... I'll have to fish them out, now!

About halfway through, but Leo (Leopold) (Leopoldo) Duranona is Argentinian. I know him mainly from Warren. I think he did some other 4-color work, maybe in the Red Circle books that Gray Morrow edited.

Interesting conversation so far. I had all 18 issues of Richard Dragon back in the day: not because I bought them off of the spinner rack as they were coming out, but rather because I ordered the whole set from Lonestar Comics for a few bucks after I read the "Whatever Happened To...?" back-up in DC Comics Presents sometime in 1981. All I can say is: that wasn't my smartest investment. You're both right, it was an underwhelming series, and Dragon himself was a very unremarkable character. As to the art, I recall liking the art in the second issue the best (the Weiss and Starlin combo), but the Estrada and Wood art in later issues was passable (and yeah, Wood was doing the heavy lifting there). The third issue drawn by Kirby was like getting poked in the eye with a stick. Anyway, looking forward to the rest of your conversation.

They might infect the rest of my books before they are burned

They might infect the rest of my books before they are burned I've had a complete run in my collection for about 10 years now and it's not bothered my other comics any, well there are probably a few runs that feel better about themselves after hanging out with the Richard Dragons, but that's not an issue. -M

I will admit to confusing the Richard Dragon series with Marvel’s Sons of Dragon series. Didn’t they both have 3 people that included a black guy ?
