Hm, yeah, the "...at peace" caveat really confounded me; I had an excellent cover I wanted to use with a vet at home after his service, but the scene he's in is not a peaceful one. Oh, well. I settled for this one: Sensation Comics #94 (DC, Dec. 1949)

Interesting topic. I had a GREAT cover in mind, but then I realized the cover does not depict vets, but active soldiers. So it's back to the drawing board Many thanks to all the world's veterans, past and present. But active soldiers are also veterans. Many of these covers picture active-duty military. I'm sure yours will be fine. EDIT: Sorry, the others beat me to it, but I hadn't read that far down. D'oh. Thanks; to me, military veterans are those who served (in the army, navy, etc.) at some point, but who are no longer in active service...so that's what was tripping me up. I thought we had to show people after they had left the military! But now I get what you mean. I guess I was overthinking it.

This one is from my collection - my copy has this date stamp, which I think adds something to it:

Fwiw I decided against posting the cover I mentioned earlier, for various reasons. Instead, here is War Adventures #12 (don't own this one yet but I hope to pick up a copy soon--love those Atlas comics!).

Are you sure we are spelling it P-E-A-C-E? 'Cause I get the impression that soldier is using a homonym.
