Well we weren't shut down, just had a curfew imposed, so I am still working, so unless something radically changes between now and the end of the month, I am in.

One week left to sign up and join in on the fun if you are interested.
so far we have 8...
icctrombone MDG thwhtguardian hondobrode bert The Captain pinkfloysound17 mrp
we can accommodate any number (even or odd number of participants does not matter) of participants. There are ways to avoid having to make trips to stores or post offices and still participate (like Amazon and others who offer direct shipping) if that is a concern.
I'll draw lots for Santas next Sunday night after work. For those participating, feel free to start posting interests and ideas beginning next weekend so people who want to get an early start once matches are made can do so.
And for those who cannot participate in the exchange, please do partake in the holiday cheer vicariously through the pics people post.

Alrighty, I'll be doing the draw shortly. Can those participating Icctrombone MDG thwhtguardian hondobrode @bert The Captain pinkfloydsound17 please PM me your mailing address and name you want on the package (rather than your forum user name). I did not keep any of the addresses from past years-I clear out my inbox each year after the event is over-so I do not have any of the addresses "on file". You can also start posting suggestion lists if you so choose. I'll be doing the random matching about midnight, my time (just over a half hour from now) and will PM folks shortly after that with their gift recipient. -M

PMs all sent to all participants with who they will be Santa for. Send me addresses asap so I can forward those along. If you are going to post suggestions/wish lists, do so soon so people can have time to shop/find and ship gits.
Merry Christmas to all.

Alrighty, to get things started I'll do a general wish list.
Lately I've been into certain creators, so anything related to them (comics by them, collected editions featuring their work, art books of their stuff, books/fanzines about them, etc.) would be welcome. They include Joe Kubert, Alex Toth, Matt Baker, Frank Frazetta, Gray Morrow and Wally Wood. I've also been getting into the 80s era Red Circle revival comics from Archie, but only have a handful so far. Other comic-related things I have been into lately is pre-code horror and sci-fi reprints and comic strip collections (Phantom, Mandrake, Secret Agent X-9, Prince Valiant, Tarzan, Sky Masters, mostly classic adventure strips). Also been picking up vintage pulp character novels (Doc Savage, Avenger, Shadow, Phantom, The Spider, Remo Williams the Destroyer, Fu Manchu, etc.) or vintage crime/detective paperbacks (Spillane, Hammett, Chandler, etc.) and vintage sci-fi/fantasy paperbacks, so anything with funky cool cover art or of that ilk is welcome. One last only comic tangential thing of interest, there is a Mego Creature from the Black Lagoon figure that is currently a Walmart exclusive that I haven't been able to find locally that would be welcome as well.
Other than that, I have pretty broad tastes and like discovering new comic-related stuff (indy, small press, or anything) as many of my posts can attest to, so anything Santa thinks might catch my fancy is welcome.

My wish list would be anything from classic comic strips pre-1980, and as always, any history of comic books or strips is welcome.
Any Bronze Age Sgt Rock, Jonah Hex or Unknown Soldier is always welcome as well.
Thank you all very much and Merry Christmas to all !

I'm pretty stocked up with Marvel and Dc, so maybe it's best for the person who is gifting me to send independent comics.

I'll go with my usual go to:
Dear Secret Santa, I'm a lover(or at least an appreciator) of all things comic books, so you don't have to go to any great troubles for my sake; I'll gladly enjoy reading whatever book is near and dear to your own heart or something you don't think has the recognition you feel is deserving. Yours, Bill Sinclair

helpful hinties: I love theme parks, music - in particular 80's hair metal or European metal bands, and of course Comics. I really haven't bought much Marvel since the early 90's. . so really anything Marvel would be "new" to me - I used to really enjoy Captain America & the Hulk books (have ready really nothing since Peter David stopped writing) when I followed them way back in the 80's (in particular the Serpent Society/Squad arcs). as to prose fiction, I do enjoy fantastic, comic (be it adaptation or original story), or Horror books (I DO have all Stephen King and Clive Barker tho, so not those authors if my Santa stumbles across those). Tho I actually have never ready any of Owen King's work.. not even the "locke & Key" comics, tho have heard they are good. "new to me" is a key word, as I have zero issue with anything used, or clearanced, or re-gifted. be it book, comic, CD, etc. . . so half-priced books with a giant "clearance $1" sticker won't get any judgement from me in the least cheers! bert

General Wish List for Me:
NO Marvel superhero books, please. I have nearly EVERYTHING I could ever want in this genre from this publisher.
As for DC superhero books, I could stand some Green Lantern, JLA, "good" Plastic Man, The Spectre, or Superman, as I have read precious little of that. Other than those, I'm pretty much set with these as well (have lots of Aquaman, Flash, Green Arrow, Batman/Detective, Wonder Woman already).
I would be open to expanding my horizons into Marvel or DC war comics or westerns (except Jonah Hex, as I already own a lot of it), and I have always wanted to own some Sandman (I have read the entire series on loan from the local library, but I don't have any of it in my collection) or some Swamp Thing. Garth Ennis Punisher would not be unwelcome either.

I believe everyone has received the address for their gift recipient now. If there are any issues, or anyone didn't receive one, let me know via PM.
