#3 was selling for about $7 until only very recently. #4 has always been far harder to find, but I suppose Steve Gallacci would have some. So were you an Erma Felna fan? I definitely remember looking at #3 at his table (having looked up the cover now) and briefly talking to him at the art display where he had a mer-animal type piece framed that I liked. I'd seen his work at a big SF Norwescon and in it's con book. I really should've bought #3, but maybe he'd sold out and was down to the one copy I looked at or something? This would've been summer 1985. Later the first copy I bought off the store shelf was #6 (I must've gotten #5 as a back issue later), but I also got Command Review which had all the earliest Erma Felna comics, so I thought it was cool. I also bought back issue things by Vaughn Bode, George Metzger (Fog City) and new B&Ws like Dog Boy, Morty the Dog, Omaha, Cutey Bunny from the beginning, and Cerebus (starting around #32). The only reason I have a lot of the B&Ws still is probably nobody else ever wanted them and my Mom didn't find them to throw them away. I have to admit that seeing Usagi didn't really make an impression on me in 1985... it was 'just' a back-up feature as far as I could tell. Usagi didn't really become memorable until a while after IMHO, so I can't fault you there. Albedo #3 was over printed -- Steve couldn't get rid of them (thus the low value until recently), so I'm sure it was still there when you visited his booth. And yes, I enjoyed the Command Review reprints too. Always loved the potential of Erma Felna, but I've read every issue and feel it never truly found its center.

Albedo #0 was a lot of fun as it was Blade Runner with animals/anthropowhatever... Rutger Hauer as a wolf, but I had a later printing. I did buy the first few issue of Usagi's own title from Fantagraphics. I don't think I saw Albedo #4 ever. Interesting to think I at least had the 4th appearance of Usagi (and later the figure in the Turtles line). Just remembered another B&W comic I bought... Panda Khan! It started in the back of A Distant Soil and then he and his wife put out their own comic solo.

There truly were some great Anthro comics out there back in the day.

I think I remember I first came across Panda Khan in a comic club out of Iowa's fanzine titled It's A Fanzine. So that would be a sort-of first appearance. Erma Felna may've turned up in some Seattle SF club fanzines or Norwescon book, I remember Ken Macklin art in some of them.

I was in fifth grade, and my best friend and I were obsessed with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys and cartoon. We stopped by a comic shop that had a display full of Anthro comics that fans of TMNT might like. We instantly recognized both Usagi Yojimbo and Panda Khan (PK never appeared in the cartoon, but he did have an action figure), so we bought both. I never got around to reading either until I was in my early 20s, and when I did, I was instantly hooked and quickly tracked down the rest.

Very happy to report that I've made $484 after fees thus far. Two more auctions that didn't sell have been relisted, but I'm already pretty content with where things are. Now I just need the buyers to be happy.
My bigger stuff is currently at CGC and waiting in line to be graded. We'll see how that goes next...

CGC has now completed grading and will be shipping them back to me. Wow, that was fast.
Grades were mostly what I expected except that Albedo #2, the big cash cow of the bunch, had minor restoration work done, which I did not know. I really worry that Restoration label on the book is going to hurt sales, especially since it's still only an 8.5.

Back from CGC. The purple label on Albedo #2 aside, I'm pleased.

Bummer about Albedo #2. You obviously had no idea it had been restored when you bought it. Can I ask if you know what was done to it in the restoration process?

I had to zoom in to read it. That's a bummer it's restored, but that still looks like a good chunk of change in that pic.
I've got a question regarding opening a claim with ebay. I've got a book that shipped on July 4 from Canada. It was supposed to be delivered on July 14, but has been sitting on "in transit. arriving late" since July 18. I had ordered another book from the same seller a week earlier and it arrived in twelve days. I contacted the seller because this book has been sitting on the same status for as long as the previous book took to arrive. Their response was basically that the mail is slow, and they aren't going to do anything because they for sure sent the book (I don't doubt it) and I need to just wait. Am I out of line if I ask eBay to step in now?
The last time a package took this long the seller (not this seller) immediately contacted USPS and I guess because the package had been destroyed USPS was waiting to see if anyone filed a claim before sending it on to me.

I ran across an actual comic I used to own that went through the CGC certification process... I know it was mine because I am the guilty fool who 'corrected' the 10c... the bottom left corner of the 1 was 'missing' and I filled it in. I know this was very deeply wrong of me and I apologize officially to the future generations here. I wouldn't do that now. But the strange thing is this: there is no "color touch up" which they have stated on their blue label... look down at the lower left... you can see where the color has gone on the spine creases. I can only assume they classified my 10c correction as "color touch". Perhaps if there is one thing like that which is so minor they spare it the purple label? dyn1.heritagestatic.com/lf?set=path%5B1%2F9%2F3%2F9%2F6%2F19396280%5D&call=url%5Bfile%3Aproduct.chain%5DIf this is now worth zillions please feel free to not tell me.

Going the other direction I have found 30 days from the U.S. to be completely normal at this time, and the tracking to be off and on at best in accuracy. I've had a couple packages take longer than a month from the U.S. to Canada. On the other hand, I got something from France in two weeks. I think you have within 90 days to make a claim on ebay/paypal now. Oh, and I had two orders from the same seller made a week apart cross in the mail, this was before covid, and I got the newer order and the older one showed as delivered on it's tracking. It straggled in a week later but I did semi-panic.

I believe Golden Age books are allowed some touch-up before getting the purple label, but I'm not certain.
