This is a pretty fun little interview. Hal Roach was "a little over 90" when he appeared on Letterman in 1982. This was a little over 70 years after he arrived in Hollywood and started working in silent films. His studio produced the Laurel and Hardy, Our Gang and Harold Lloyd films, among many others.

I love this kind of creative tomfoolery! Space: 1899! (...) Just watched this actual episode on YouTube recently; damned if the dialogue in this version isn't quite an improvement (e.g., 'lunar swirlage' - *snerk*).

Season 2 of Space: 1999 is a quantum leap backwards relative to the first season. While the first went for a 2001: a space odyssey look, the second was trying hard for a Lost in Space vibe.
The pain. The pppppain...
I still like Catherine Schell, though.

Found this, a video about a very unique looking Pinball machine that never made it passed two test cabs called "Pinball Circus"

So recently some lost episodes of the show "Toonheads" have been found and uploaded online, "The Best Of The Worst Cartoons Ever" & "The Twelve Missing Hares" (Twelve Missing Hares features some shorts banned for unsavory content, so I won't be posting it here)

The Swedish Chef is a great example of behind-the-scenes knowledge making it even better. To wit: Frank Oz controlled the Chef's hands, while Jim Henson did the head and voice. The Chef's habit of flinging things around the studio was Oz having fun messing with Henson and trying to throw him off the script. Watching those segments knowing that, and then seeing the Chef's head reacting with surprise to what the hands are doing, makes them even funnier.
