I've made a few videos over the years, but my output hasn't been very consistent. Still, for anyone who's interested, you can find my stuff at www.youtube.com/Moviefan2k4

These A.I. generated things popping up out of the woodwork these past few months are just insane.
We're on the edge of a paradigm shift in artistic production, I'm sure. This kind of crazy images, for all their raw and unpolished aspect, are just the beginning.
This fake trailer looks just like what Philippe Druillet would have crafted had he had the technology back in the '70s (even if the Jodo Dune was mostly visualized by Moebius). I am surprised that it looks so un-Hollywoodish, and that's a good thing!

This just needs to be shared, one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. There's a bonus to watching it all the way to the end.

...but I love all of those close encounter sketches featuring Kate McKinnon as 'Miss Rafferty'. They're absolutely hilarious.

A pretty decent Lovecraft pastiche from Finland! I'm impressed by the production value in there.

2001: a space odyssey remains my favourite movie ever.
This apocryphal coda is so much better than the 3001 sequel.

I haven't seen any interest in these parts for this kind of thing, but you can never tell, so...
For the past year or two, I've been looking into exercising smarter, mostly to combat chronic (but not debilitating) health issues and prepare for old age, but also because it's just a good idea to re-evaluate whatever assumptions I may have been making since my younger days. Maybe it's just the mood I'm in this week, but this video from Dr. Mike made an impression on me (warning - he's got a potty mouth):
Dr. Mike has a focus on body-building, but he speaks to all levels of fitness, from zero to Steve Rogers. He doesn't say anything in this video that you don't hear from other responsible fitness professionals, but sometimes you just need to hear it from the right person in the right words. Even though the theme of the video is genetics, that's really just a vehicle to cover basic fitness advice here. The part that made an impression on me was about being the best you. It's not like I never heard that many times before, but... I dunno, this is the most persuasive I've heard it. "Knowing" is one thing; "internalizing" is a different matter.
