We all have those moments when we just don't want to cook up dinner. So instead we order take out or delivery. What is/are your go to favorite choices? Choose your 2 bestest most tastiest that are your regular enjoyments.
For myself: #1 is Chinese takeout. So many diverse dishes and variations depending on the style of Chinese you prefer. Flavorful and filling and just as great tasting the next day. Could have a different Chinese dinner every night for a month from all the restaurants near my home and still not have a duplicate meal. Ginger Chicken with lemon sauce and a touch of soy sauce hits the spot anytime. A big bowl of Egg Drop soup or Won Ton Soup on a cold day or when ill soothes and warms you up. Orange Chicken or General Tso's Beef can help you sweat out all the problems of the world.
#2 would be Mexican food. Again the variety is stunning and you can change up the spices and sauces turning one thing into another! I love street tacos (beef/chicken/pork) and OMG homemade tamales are to die for here in the southwest as you can find neighborhood sellers in the grocery store parking lots all over town. Breakfast of Juevo's Ranchero's and rice will keep you going (in both the literal and physical meaning) all day long and oh how I drool over a fresh hot Lengua (tongue for you gringo's who no comprende or sabe the lingo) taco with onions, cilantro, guacamole and sour cream...ooooooooooohhhhhhhh yuuuuuuuuuummmmmmm. I can eat up some pork Carnita's anytime and a Green or Red Chile Chimichanga is always tasty.
How about you and your taste buds?

I went with Chinese and pizza, for the simple fact that I can't make either of them for myself as successfully as someone else can.
Never got into Indian food, and I like but don't love Japanese or Thai (although there is a new Asian fusion place near us where I can get really good sushi AND a tasty red curry with shrimp) As for the other stuff, I make a lot of it at home myself. I've been told I'm an above-average amateur cook, and I do my own burgers, BBQ, Italian (love the chicken parm), and Mexican (more traditional rustic than Tex-Mex).

LOVE me some butter chicken and garlic naan on a take-home, sit by the fire with a warm blanket kind of night. Indian food is the best!

My choice is kind of forced by circumstance, in that the only option I have of those given are Mexican, pizza and burgers. My choice is Mexican. I can do burgers far better at home and most of the pizza available is pretty marginal, at best. But we have close to a dozen taco stands/buses where I can get great Mexican street food. I do think there are still a couple of Chinese places but they're both inedible.
There are definite down-sides to small-town living.

I voted Japanese and Mexican. Though I rarely do delivery/takeout. I usually eat at the resturant. Recently with a 16 and 13 year old boys we can leave them alone now and my wife and I have been picking one night a week we go out to eat to have some time together. Recently we've been hitting the same Mexican restaurant we just discovered as the food is amazing. We also have a regular Japanese restaurant to hit from time to time. Nothing like a nice sashimi platter and warm sake.

Mexican and other (Greek). Gyros are just about my favorite take out food when I can get them. The best place for them here is town closed last year (it was a diner), so I am in search for someplace other than Arby's to get gyros now.

I voted for Thai and Indian because at this moment we have khao pad gai and pad woon sen in the refrigerator and chicken biryani in the freezer. We had Korean sushi last night and I often have tamales for breakfast. We get the tamales from Trader Joe's.
Some of the others are difficult because we have to be gluten-free.

Favorite has to be Korean style (also Japanese style) Curry followed by proper British battered Fish n' Chips. Favorite as opposed to what one actually gets more often. I love quality Mexican, Chinese, Indonesian, Greek, and had A&W burger-fries-root beer just last night.

Kebab and Pizza for me.
There was an Iranian take-out place in the DC area called Moby Dick... and I still dream of its joojeh kabab.

If we're talking at the top of their game, I'd say Thai is my favorite followed by Chinese and Japanese.

Pizza and poutine. I haven't had either in quite a while, unfortunately.

Pizza and poutine. I haven't had either in quite a while, unfortunately. Maybe best to stick with our Canadian poutine: Pizza blamed for 2,300 hospital visits in the U.S. in 2017 "Roughly 2,300 Americans ended up in hospital last year for pizza-related injuries, according to U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
According to recent data, the CPSC estimates 2,300 emergency room visits in 2017 were associated with pizza."

I am with the The Captain when it comes to home cooking. A burger is just better home crafted and grilled. Same goes for most steaks or seafood as I can season/marinate/cook em up exactly how I like em, rather than hoping some restaurant cook will please my tastebuds. Grilled corn on the cob slobbernockered with butter, cheese and garlic....mmmm so yummy. Shrimp swimming in butter and spices then grilled is spectacular grub. A fat juicy sausage/bratwurst grilled to perfection delights the stomach. Other times simple old hot dogs grilled up on a weekend is A-OK by me.
