Betcha I'm less ready than you.  Other than one particular issue of Marvel Two-in-One that will come close to the top of my list, I've still got 11 spaces to fill.  |

I'll try and participate this year. I thought you had to post on the day, but I now understand you can post a bit late as long as it's on the thread for that day. Also I'm not sure if I quite got that you could get things ready ahead of time (although who would know I guess) and sometimes my typing is not as good as other times (though it's been pretty good for a few months now).

This contest takes place the day after the general election here in the UK. I may need a distraction, depending on which clown is elected (quite frankly, I'm not keen on either of the main candidates). So this will be a welcome distraction.

I hate doing catchup, I prefer to post it the day of so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. So far I've typed up one and taken the appropriate scans to go with it. I'll try to get 2 more in the can before tomorrow.

It’s good that the rules specify we should choose team-ups that are important to us, and not ones that were particularly significant to comics history or some such. Less pressure that way.
Some of my choices will probably generate a “Uh? Fine, whatever” response.

Some of my choices will probably generate a “Uh? Fine, whatever” response. This is why I prefer a fan-contributory topic as opposed to what a magazine might come up with. Example: it gets boring, but every so often, a magazine (e.g. a film or music magazine) will do yet another "Top 50 Movies" or "Top 100 LPs" list. And it's always so predictable. True, some things are bound to make the list, but you know a bunch of editors and writers have got together and just come up with the same old list we've seen countless times. With a fan-contributory topic like this one, you know it'll be more subjective. No-one is under any pressure. No-one is seeking to be predictable. We simply add our favourites. A couple of mine may not mean anything in the grand scheme of history, but they are meaningful to me. |

I'm happy to say that I have 4 write ups in the can including pictures. This takes the pressure off my week. Last week I worked 13 hours Monday and Tuesday and 11 hours each of the last 4 days. When I get home and feed and walk the dogs, my brain is mush.

I've got one on mine that I am absolutely sure nobody else will have, so... we'll see how many people end up picking it. |
