^^^ saw that announcement earlier today when I was taking a break from clearing the driveway. They've had success with Batman '66 and Wonder Woman '77, and those two versions are widely known outside Wednesday Warriors, so why not take a shot.

I feel like people have been dying for a '89 Batman series for quite some time and getting Sam Hamm to script is awesome.
I hope he can maybe find a way to get some of his unused story ideas into the series. I'd love to see the Raven Society worked in with the Court of Owls.

To celebrate the new Heroes Reborn series, Marvel announced Trading Card Variant covers, as well as real trading cards. The covers will also form one big picture (in typical trading card fashion): And we got a little more info on the mini-series itself: Some great nostalgia here from Marvel.

TMNT - The Last Ronin
Something that could be interesting - Eastman and Laird reunion and The Last Ronin. I just glanced through the 2nd issue and there is a flashback story drawn by Eastman/Laird and it's looking really good, just like in the old days (main interior art is top of the line too). Granted, Miracleman-type sequels became almost obligatory/requirement in super-hero comics, and people are probably fed up by now with yet another Miracleman or Dark Knight Returns imitation (so dark and gritty, and gritty and dark, and dark and gritty...; when in fact not really, and the originals where never dark nor gritty to begin with), nevertheless this time around it's done by the original creators of the series.

There are certainly a lot of comics that have done the old hero coming out of retirement for one last adventure, but with the Turtles starting out as an homage/ parody of Miller's work its a fitting end.

San Diego Comic Con has cancelled as an in person convention and will be a virtual only con for the second ear in a row. They are not alone as E3 and other "geek culture" major cons have gone the same route for the second year in a row.

A very odd change if dates as it has ALWAYS been held during the May holiday weekend. I am not sure that mid January is all that good of a time frame?!? Likely based on they don't have the upfront $$ to cover for the holiday weekend and need a less expensive booking...

I liked the graphic novel quite a bit, but I'm torn on this one. The price for a 28 page funnybook is more than a bit steep.

Yeah, I can understand that - it is indeed a big price tag for a standard comic book; it's not really an issue for me, though, since I always go for the electronic/pdf version (international postage prices out any physical books for me in these kind of campaigns).

Seeing covers around for the new Guardians of the Galaxy series. Looks interesting as they are going LOSH large team dynamic of cosmic heroes. May pick it up just for it having characters I like and want to see back in action. Nova, Quasar, Phyla-Vell, Moondradon and most especially Super Skrull In a "heroic" role. Hope it is better than what Marvel has done with the GOTG of late.

I read that Coates last issue on Capt America is #30. I just went back and looked and the last time Steve was prominent in his own title was 2015. Hydra Cap wasn't Steve and most of Waid's recent run was... Less than satisfying. I hope we can get a decent run featuring Steve or just retire the character.
