So with all this multiversity stuff going on it seems as though the only way our Wally will exist is in some out of the way side universe. (essentially Wall's being treated like G'Nort from Green lantern pre-Rebirth: stick him in a lifeless sector where he won't cause any trouble and forget he exists)

Personally I'm no great fan of this as it makes NuWally way younger than any of his Classic contemporaries (Roy and Dick Kory and Victor Stone are all in their 20's while wally is de-aged to around Tim Drake or even Damian Wayne's age)
And I'm not a racist but I really have a problem with shifting Wally's ethnicity just to play retro-political correctiveness for a defecit in equal opportunity super-power endowment 50 plus years ago.

that said, I do think we can have it both ways. we can still have our Classic Wally West and also have a new Black Kid Flash and I'm not talking about renaming him Bart either!

Instead, i think we should use a name and a character who has ties to the Flash universe already. Julio Mendez. (Barry's Partner in the 1990 TV Series)


naturally a Time travel story will alter history which will cause both boys to be born
NuWally will be called Julio for the rest of this post

Barry is in his early 30's
Wally is in his Early 20's
Julio is in his early to mid teens

Having only existed thus far in the TV universe Julio's New52 incarnation can be any age needed.
Julio's parentage can remain exactly as it is and even much of his story can remain as we have already seen it so far.
Wally and Julio are now half-Brothers.
Wally's Relationship with Linda is restored but without the kids
Wally having the name West is a few years older than julio.
Wally's father in the Post Crisis-Pre Flashpoint DCU wasn't the perfect role-model/husband/father
He worked for the Manhunters, was shown in Born to Run as having a wandering eye (and maybe more)
all that said it should come as no surprise that Julio was the product of New52 Rudy West's Infidelity
( a whole backstory as to how this came about can be expanded on later)
Wally Is now in his early twenties white, with red hair just as he had been prior to Flashpoint
He's a junior CSI under Barry in Central City
He gets his powers as I have outlined below*
Julio's is pretty much the same as we've seen NuWally's. Iris is the only one julio has left in his life (Rudy basically kicked his Mom to the curb and Julio's Mom disappeared in the Crime sindicate's invasion)
Julio get's his powers as NuWally does as things currently stand
Julio's empowerment causes Wally to alter his uniform from an exact duplicate of Barry's to the shiny suit)
Julio will wear whatever NuWally ends up with.
Eventually the real Bart Allen (Barry Allen's future born grandson) will arrive in his Impulse identity and be Julio/Kid Flash's partner as Wally is Barry's

Ok So let's play this one by the New52's rules
Barry and Iris aren't together, hence no Wally as Kid Flash.
Wally needs a connection to Barry to be A Flash.

ok first thing we do is take a page from JL JLU and make Wally a Lab-Rat or intern at the Central City Crime Lab Barry is Gil Grissom to Wally's Greg Sanders (We could even throw in Wally's exchange with the crew cut boss from Flash and Substance Barry gives Wally some evidence to check out on a recent case (give Wally a trace or chem analysis expertise) and as Barry goes out to catch Weather Wizard Wally works at the "rack of Chemicals!" WW whips up a storm and with Barry using some of his newer tricks charges the lightning in the storm with Speed Force Energy. Wally is hit by said lightning and is thrown by the explosion after Barry stops WW he visits Wally in the hospital when the doctors tell Barry that Wally's healing faster than anyone ever should Barry goes to his young friend and realizing what has truly occurred and how he's responsible for it he comes clean to Wally and suggests that Wally become his Partner in protecting the Twin City's. Wally agrees and jumps the Bridge to join the Keystone PD on Barry's recommendation as one of their CSI's while Barry stays in Central. the two of them work their own cases and also team up when the rogues bounce back and forth between cities.
To allow for the Five Year Crimp, Wally and Linda will still be together but not yet married and no kids as of yet (Sorry Jai and Irey fans!) Unlike Barry who kept it a secret from Iris/Patty for all those years, Wally tells Linda up-front about himself and but waits until Barry gives his go-ahead to fill her in on his Mentor's identity.
Wally and Barry would wear identical uniforms at first so no one could tell that they're two different Flashes. Most will assume Flash is so fast that he can actually be in two places at once. The Flashes use this as an advantage and don't give any indication of the truth.(Edit: until NuWally/Julio begins working with Barry)
