I have sent out PDF copies of the book to most backers at this point, but so far I haven't heard anything back from anyone who may have read it. Mine had gone into my junk mail folder, so I'm glad that I just saw this message here, otherwise it might've gotten deleted without my seeing it. If others haven't received their PDF yet, maybe they should check their junk e-mails too. I think I'm gonna wait for my physical copy before I read it. That's just the way I roll, when it comes to comics. However, I do like that among the extras in the PDF are some vintage Crimebuster strips. I've never read any of those before, so I might have a peruse of them.

I’m behind on most of my reading, but found the time to give the issue itself a read. Maybe more to come when I’ve digested it all and made it through all the back matter included in the PDF. Really dug it. It had a great Hardy Boys/Scooby-Doo vibe. Liked the banter between Trixie and Chuck. And a good mystery to boot. Thanks! I'm glad someone liked it! Hurray! I've taken what little action I can at my end to prevent it, but there's only so much the sender can do. I appreciate this, though. Next time I send out a backer update on Kickstarter, I will mention this and suggest people check their spam folders. I hope people like the Golden Age extras. I don't carry over a ton of continuity from the original series, nothing anyone really needs to have read, but there are certain characters and events that inform the action, so I tried to include Golden Age features that help flesh out the main story if people feel like reading them. I'm planning on doing this going forward as well.

The first issue has been mailed out to most backers, including (I think) everyone from here who backed the campaign. I'm guessing everyone in the U.S. will receive it some time this week. For our friends outside the country, well, I have no clue when it will arrive — customs has their own ideas about these things.
I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on it!

My package o' Crimebuster goodness just arrived in the mailbox. I won't have a chance to crack open a copy to read until after work tonight, but I look forward to it. I got all 4 covers, I plan on keeping 1 and passing on the others to folks in the indy/self-publishing scene around here for them to check it out as well. -M I'm glad it arrived okay! Shipping comics out is always nerve racking. I'm curious to hear what you think once you've had a chance to read it!

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm glad to hear the art was okay, as I was pretty much teaching myself as I went and it's the element I am least confident in. I feel like you can see the art getting better as the issue goes along, so hopefully it will be better in issue #2.
I'm going to obsess over that typo though! But I guess with as many words as I have in this issue, at least it was just one, and in the lettercoumn instead of the comic.

I've had a couple people ask about getting copies of the book. Now that I've sent out copies to most of the Kickstarter backers, I do have some copies left over, so I have set up an online store if anyone is interested in checking it out: crimebustercomics.com/shop/Thanks!

A quick update: I'll be doing my first show (or shows?) this fall!
On Saturday, September 14, I'll be at the Catamount Comics Expo in Burlington, Vermont! This will my first solo show, so I'm excited to see how it goes.
Prior to that, I will likely be helping staff the table for the Boston Comics Roundtable at Boston Fan Expo on Saturday, August 17. This isn't quite set in stone yet, but it looks likely. The BCR is a collective of indie comics creators in the Greater Boston Area. I wil have The Crimebusters there for sale. I'm hoping to get some valuable experience running a table at a con — and since this is the biggest con in the area, it's a good place to start.
If you're in the area or planning to attend either of these shows, stop by and see me!

Got my copy of Crimebusters #120 in the post yesterday. Haven't looked at the issue yet, but I'm hoping to have a read this weekend. I'll post my thoughts here when I do.

For our New England contingent, The Crimebusters #1 is now available to buy at Bedrock Comics in Framingham, MA. The owner was nice enough to give me some shelf space for free — 100% of the money from any sales will go to me. He's only going to keep it out for a month, though, so we'll see if any copies sell. If you were thinking of checking it out, or want more copies, Bedrock Comics is worth the trip — they frequently have great deals in the $1 box, and he currently has three or four long boxes of nice Bronze/Silver books for $3 each, including good stuff like Superman, Batman, ASM, etc. I could have dropped a lot when I was there today; there was a whole run of JLoA starting around #46 and continuing up into the #140's for three bucks a pop. But I contented myself with a nice copy of Brave and the Bold #98 co-starring Phantom Stranger.
Anyway, I got off topic, but it's a cool store which is just a little bit cooler now!

I really appreciate it! As I told you, Craig Boldman is maybe my favorite Archie writer, so I'm really happy!

Mine arrived today to the island. If we had six days a week delivery instead of five I might've received it Saturday or even Friday, plus always add at least a day for it to cross the water to our island. Situation normal. Going to read it tonight if all goes as planned! I can say I will definitely support the next issue as well.
