Saw on CBR announcement for another new DC comic book series. Horror themed Gotham City Monsters. Coming out of the Leviathan event from Bendis the shadowy S.H.A.D.E. organization is dissolved and Frankenstein recruits Killer Croc, Orca, Lady Clayface and Andrew Bennet (I, Vampire) to fight against the former mentor of Frank: Melmoth who attacks Monster Town, the hidden underground city which lies beneath Gotham City. Writer Steve Orlando and artist Amancay Nahuelpan.
Looks like another new comic book series to check out. DC is hitting more than missing of late. Shame that Marvel can't say the same.

It sounds like a fun concept...but Steve Orlando seldom writes anything even close to readable so I doubt I'll be buying.

That gives me an idea for a thread one day. DC VS Marvel, decade by decade. Yes, it's broad. There'd be generalisations. But with the variety of members here, it could be interesting. For instance, I was more into DC as a kid in the 80s, but I much preferred Marvel in the 90s. We could even consider doing it year-by-year. Hmm...

S.H.A.D.E. hardly had time to do anything! Why toss concepts like this? DC obviously loves Grant Morrison but always dispenses with his concepts as soon as he's done with them.

I have yet to be really into anything Steve Orlando has written, but I love Frankenstein, so I'll check this out.

I really liked the Morrison Frankenstein that he built up but the New 52 title just didn't catch me. They should have gotten someone like Peter Milligan to write the title and just let him get as weird as he wants.
