Started just in time to be eligible is Taxidriver's "Why are comic shops closing?" thread. Not only has it given the community a great springboard to discuss the pros and cons of the direct market comics establishment but it's also proven to be a place to discuss our own personal experiences(both good and bad) in our local shops and reflect on times gone bye.

I'll nominate The Crimebusters, by Crimebuster, chronicling a behind the scenes look at the creation of his new Crimebuster pastiche comic. First, I love seeing people get involved in making comics and the small press scene, two, I love any behind the scenes look at the creative process, and three, it's just a cool concept that deserves more recognition.

Sorry for any confusion 😉

Sorry for any confusion 😉 But I would argue the thread is about the work he is doing, not the work itself. We are not getting the creative output of Crimebuster in the thread, we are getting a discussion of his work and process. Unlike, say one of the Fan Fiction threads or I made This, the content in this thread is not an original story or piece of art, but a discussion of the making such a work. So I wouldn't think it was eligible in the other category. -M

If no one else nominates it for Best Original Work, I most certainly will. But you've made a compelling argument. If you want to count it, you may count it.

I'll let my nomination stand, if no one wants to second it, well then it is what it is. -M
