I was thinking about getting the GL/New Gods crossover but I haven't due to budgetary reasons. Care to explain what they've done with the New Gods? I know that Mr. Miracle and Big Barda are still their old selves in Earth 2 but Orion has been turned into a frat-boy sexist pig in Wonder Woman.

I am very excited about purchasing:
Earth 2 #27 Earth 2: World's End Worlds' Finest #27
I am purchasing Arrow 2.5 digitally. It has been a very good read so far.
While I have no plans to purchase Klarion, I find it interesting that he is an Earth 2 character.

Probably going to give the new direction for Batgirl a try, at least check out the first issue. I might peek at Klarion, but it will have to wait for a week that I have extra $$ , not the week before a con I am going to as a guest.

I have been collecting Batgirl since the New 52 started but the new interior artist's work reminds me of something from Archie so I'm probably going to drop the book.

I have been collecting Batgirl since the New 52 started but the new interior artist's work reminds me of something from Archie so I'm probably going to drop the book. See, I read Batgirl for the first 18 issues and I thought the rotating teams of artists were mostly terrible through the entire run, so the new art samples are a refreshing change. For me the art on Batgirl has been the same parade of rehashed ill-conceived poses in stories that have barely competent visual story-telling on a panel by panel, page to page basis. It was dull, repetitive, paint-by-number house style that lacked vision, originality, artistic voice, mood, tone, creativity, and anything remotely visually exciting. Add to it a bland muted color palette that blended all the visuals together, and it left Simone fighting an uphill battle every month to hold my interest in the book long enough to read the words on the page, because the visuals on the pages were just so blah. And Archie is producing some of the most interesting visual books lately (Haspiel on the Fox, Francavilla on Afterlife with Archie, Breyfogle on Life with Archie, Dan Parent on anything he does, the new Sabrina book, the art samples form the new Red Circle relaunch, etc. etc.). I was never a fan of Archie growing up, but as a company Archie is rocking it it artistically right now while DC has suffered from its bland 90-itis house style for the past 3-4 years. But I will post my thought when I get around to reading it. With a con coming up this weekend that we just got a book to press for, and spending a crapload of time at the drawing table trying to get pages done for the next book for our next show in Nov, it may be a bit before I actually get to read the issue. -M

It's just usually too simplified and cartoony for what I like in my DC Comics. I'm a fan of more detailed, epic style like George Perez, Phil Jimenez, Ivan Reis, and Nicola Scott. As for the colors, I'll agree with you that brighter is better. That's one of the reasons I don't care for the art in Wonder Woman currently. It's dull, dark coloring helps to kill the vibe of Wonder Woman and her world. Even the colors in Superman/Wonder Woman are borderline for me but Tony Daniels pencils and art help to make up for them.

Still loving Future's End and picked up World's End # 1 as well. Digging them both as they build up to the Next Big Crisis Event.

I was pretty disappointed by the start of Snyder's new story in Batman #35, I really didn't like his Joker in Death of the Family so I'm not really interested in what almost seems like his version of Emperor Joker. I was hoping this would be the story that was teased in Detective #27 and we saw the beginning of in the Furutes End tie with the Batman clones in the future but that doesn't appear to have anything to do with this. Perhaps that's going to be in Eternal?
