A couple years back, it was announced that Ellis & Doran would be doing a new webcomic together. Both have had some health issues and othe rcommitments that have delayed things, but it is finally available and the first three chapters are up and free hereAbout to dive into the first chapter to see what it's like, but here's a little blurb of what it's about: -M

Interesting start for the series. Doran's using a different art style than her typical style seen in A Distant Soil. Darker, more visceral. I like it a lot. Not sure I like the reader interface for that site though, the downward scrolling is not the way I am used to reading stuff, but I can adapt. Best I can describe the genre is weird crime, not sure if there is a supernatural element yet or not, or if it's weird science kind of stuff, we've only just discovered the weirdness at the end of chapter 3. The main characters, Felicity and Amy are distinctive, kind of riffing a bit of the Holmes/Watson dynamic intentionally, but it is it's own thing not a Holmesian pastiche. Chapters are fairly short, and I am not sur ehow long the overall work is, but I will keep checking it out as it has caught my interest.

Yeah, the format is a barrier for me - not so much the scrolling down as having a single large panel per "page". Everything feels like an in-your-face close-up, which might be appropriate for specific moments but not all the time without respite or variation. It might work better if the reader could change the size of the image (maybe you can?) and also if you could click to the next page instead of having to scroll.

Huh, I must confess I'm not familiar with Colleen Doran, but I will be mentioning her in two days in my Supplemental X-Men thread in two days with respect to Fallen Angels II. What a co-inky-dink!
