Well it had been announced previously, but the trailer for DC's new Black Label imprint dropped, and I am pretty jazzed for some of the books coming from this imprint... The trailer for Godzilla: King of Monsters looks good too.. The announcement of new episodes of Star Wars The Clone Wars has my wife hyped to no end. The fact that Disney/Lucasfilm kept this completely under wraps and no leaks about it emerged before the announceent so it took everybody by surprise impresses the hell out of me in this day and age. IDW announced the Wrightson's Frankenstein is getting an Artist's edition. I may have to break the bank to get that one. I was also happy to see IDW announce a Marvel Young Readers line aimed at middle school age readers. Spidey first, then Avengers, then Panther. Spidey features Peter, Miles and Spider-Gwen. Shuri will feature in BP and either Capt. Marvel or Ms. Marvel (I forget which now) will be on the Avengers roster. The fastest growing group of readers is middle school readers and sales to that demographic of comic-related material has been huge. DC already threw their hat into the ring with the Ink and Zoom lines, so I am glad to see IDW taking Marvel into the ring in that arena too. The future of comics is in that generation of readers, so it is good to see books aimed to bring them into the fold. Speaking of Ink and Zoom, DC announced more new titles for these lines including: My wife is pretty excited about the 24 issue Marvel Star Wars mini that will bridge the gap between all the trilogies. I am not excited by it, but I know there are Tom Scioli fans among our members, and it was announced he will be doing of all things a Go-Bots mini for IDW. Titan announced a new comic (well a new English version of a French comic) based on Orson Welles The Third Man. I am a huge Welles fan, so I am intrigued by this. It's called the Prague Coup. I am sure there's other stuff I have forgotten or yet to see that will excite me, but those were some not mentioned already here (I think). -M

At least the 'black history of the DCU' interests me, especially if they focus on existing characters rather than doing the Marvel 'Truth' thing of retconning someone in simply to make a point. I will have to look this one up.

What do you guys think the chances are of Miracleman actually happening, with Gaiman now having his own line at DC?

Gaiman doesn't have his own line at DC : he's just getting a check from them for putting his seal of approval on the books. He already did that for Lucifer by Carey, Books Of Magic and The Dreaming series, as wall as many Sandman Presents mini series. He is at best a paid consultant. I highy doubt those new series will matter in anyways to the perception of the Sandman world.
I would be very surprised if the scrips haven't been long written now. The series has been delayed for two reasons : - An unforseen legal claim had to be adressed before htey could go forward, and as we all know, the law isn't fast in ths kind of cases. - Mark Buckingham decided to redraw all the issues already produced back then, and is probably aiming for THE work of his carreer, well aware that this book could change his life.
