I'll keep an eye out for the Morrison Green Lantern even though his work with the more popular DC characters usually leaves me cold. But maybe Green Lantern, though a regular Justice League member and generally a pretty well-known DC character, is far enough removed from Superman/Batman levels that Morrison might do something I find interesting with it. At least it has the science-fiction, galactic police force angle. I'm sceptical, though. In the latest DC Insider there's a letter from Morrison that made it sound like he had some good ideas for his take on GL; no giant world ending events or stories that you have to follow for years to see some form of pay off, just the corps doing their every day thing. He likened it to a police procedural, with most stories being one and done with the occasional two parter thrown in every now and again. It certainly sounds refreshing, so I'm pretty intrigued.

Reading more about it at Comics Beat...I think it's going to be a hard pass. The art looks interesting and I like tying the concept into the future of the DCU...but it's written by Steve Orlando, and I've yet to read anything by him that is even remotely pallet-able. I was incredibly surprised by the first issue this week, so far these new books have been pretty solid.

But having a lot of one and done adventures is very promising.
