Listening to my favorite version of what is probably my all-time favorite Peter Frampton tune.
Even at his age, Pete literally knocks this one out of the park-- acoustically-- no amps, no effects pedals, just pure string magic.
Despite his health issues (dealing with inclusion body myositis), he still displays an amazing lexicon of beautifully phrased licks. I don't know Frampton personally, but I still am proud to call him a "musical neighbor"-- he lives about 40 minutes from me. One of my best friends was key grip for a Frampton video shoot several years back, but it was a closed set and he couldn't get me in to meet him.

I've never been big on solo Frampton, but was a huge fan of Humble Pie. Their Fillmore album--which I was just listening to the other night--was seminal in my path toward finding delta and Chicago blues.

Since Halloween is over and I refuse to even acknowledge that other holiday until December 1, I'm listening to Vince Guaraldi's Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

Because some days you just need Kelly's Heroes in one way or another.

After seeing "The Monkees Present: The Mike and Micky Show" last week at the Detroit Masonic Temple, I've been revisiting some deeper cuts in their respective oeuvres.

“She can nag and be a constant pain; oh that woman. But those hips she’s got me whipped and its just too hard to resist, what a woman.” The ultimate conundrum.
I do enjoy its an all female accompaniment though.

Christmas can't go by without listening to this classic!
And then, there's this one-- the first time I heard it years ago, I swear I thought she was singing Roly-Polish Santa Claus!
Is that a kielbasa in your stocking, or are just glad to see me?
