BC article Chris Ryall, who has been editor-in-chief at IDW for 14 years has left the company, and their PR manager, Steven Scott is also leaving. Ryall was the major force behind securing the rights to ROM (his childhood favorite) and champion of the Hasbroverse at the company, an initiative that produced less than stellar sales, so I am not sure if that played a role in his decision, but IDW has been undergoing a lot of changes a sTed Adams stepped down as publisher back in November too. IDW has done a lot of interesting stuff, and I wonder who the new EIC will be and what direction they will move in. Shot in the dark-maybe Alonso winds up here (I've heard nothing of the sort, but it's a stab in the dark). -M

They've done a lot of great things, namely bringing back The Maxx into print and reviving TMNT. Really did not like their Judge Dredd series at all, but apparently the side books like Year One & Mega-City 2 were excellent
My only problem with them is that they seem wholly focused on licensed properties and not original creations, which kind of limits the market depending on whether or not you're a fan of said properties

As long as it doesn't effect their strip reprints. Because they rock in that area.

Oh, I'm by no means knocking them for that. Their licensed stuff is at par with Marvel's, perhaps maybe exceeding it
It's a joy to see things past have such care, quality, and attention given to them. I only wish Boom! could learn to do the same with their Power Ranger books

Ryall has landed a new gig, joining Robert Kirkman's Skybound Entertianmnet in an as yet untitled role working along with their EiC Sean Mackieweicz. Kirkman said he admired Chris work from afar for some time and jumped at the chance to bring him on board when Ryall left IDW.
