chadwilliam, I never looked at that retro- Golden Age logo that closely. Maybe Schwartz thought the original was -- what? -- too harsh, crudely drawn? And I realize now that they added the lines to the wings, too. Gave them some depth. You always have a great observation or three in all your posts, cw. Bravo! BTW, all of the "second-tier" logos are better than most other logos at that time, except the one with Robin's name added. It was the least creative.
