I own the original art for this page. Wow ! I'm afraid to ask what that set you back I bought it from Gene the Dean himself in the early 90s. I paid an embarrassingly small amount.

Slaine from start of Treasure of Britain story Very visual indeed and emphasised movement and that's alone makes it a great splash page!

More great Buscema Avengers art. Always a welcome sight. I agree! Giantman /Goliath was always my favorite character that Buscema drew.

From the Department of Pedantry: Maybe we should also have a thread devoted to one-panel pages and pin-ups as opposed to splash pages? There is a big difference. Meanwhile, some true "splash" pages:

I think you mean the opening page with a full page illustration.
I thought the same thing but thought I'd check the internet for their definition and here's what Wikipedia says :
"Splash page (comics), a comic book page that is mostly or entirely taken up by a single image or panel"
If that's the case, then any full page illo would be a splash page, at least how I read it.
If you are meaning the traditional opening page with a full page illo, the name of the story and credits, then that's what I'll post.
The other full page illos I'll go back and delete.
